My 06' recently and all of a sudden started to run badly right about 2500 rpm's. It's got near 36,000 miles on it. I found that the clutch free play was huge and that I couldn't even totally disengage it to properly shift gears. I opened the service_manual to reacquaint myself on the clutch adjustment. Took me a few minutes to adjust and all is good. Not completely sure if the 2500 rpm stumble is gone but haven't noticed it since I adjusted the clutch. Sure hope it is. If it did go away then I wonder how that could possibly be clutch related??? |

Follow your clutch cable all the way down and see if it was rubbing against any wires. I'm thinking the slack you took up may have given you clearance? |

One more thing: each time I had to adjust my cable like you just did, it was about to pop! Check up near the top where the cable goes into the lever. |

I ordered a new clutch cable this morning from the local dealer. Over 60 bucks. The original has broken a few strands and I just might stop riding it until the new one arrives because I think it just might break at an inopportune time. I've got my son's 07' to ride anyways. |
