Okay I have a question for you tuber guys, I have my m2 all stripped down doing some odds and ends and want to get it all nice and pretty while its like this. Im used to dirt bikes and dual sports that never get detailed. I can handle the plastic (eagle one and then plexus. I just want to make sure I dont use something that will damage any of the finish or anyhting. Anyways... What is the best thing to use for detailing on the following: Powdercoated tube frame (do you just treat this like a painted car/plastics or what)? What about ceramic coated headers? Also, for the engine case and other matte silver parts, what do you do to clean this up? Thanks, Spencer |

I'm not sure about the headers, but I've always treated the frames the same way you treat painted parts, get it nice and clean and give it a good coat of wax. My X1 had a bad oil leak when I got it, instead of fixing it the PO just kept adding oil. In other words, the engine was a mess! Someone on this forum suggested using Gunk engine degreaser, I tried it and it works well. If the engine isn't real messy just get a good generic household cleaner-degreaser. I've also found that mineral spirits and a toothbrush will take care of stubborn oil stains without harming the paint on the cases. I'm sure others will chime in, good luck! |

Carnuba wax always made my nuke blue X1 frame and wheels POP! I applied it with a foam tip on an electric drill, let it glaze over, then hand buff with a microfiber towel. |
