so the other day when riding 2-up I started to get this weird "thump thump thump thump thump" feel thru the seat, coming from somewhere in the rear as I decelerated to a stop and seemed to be exaggerated when applying the rear brake - but the rear brake looks OK and has lots of material; wheel has not been off for as long as I've owned the bike. The rear tire was beginning to show cord so I'm having that replaced today, but I can't get the thump feeling to come back again riding solo and the brakes feel fine, and there is no noise accompanying the vibration. I can't see anything rubbing... so wtf. |

Wheel bearing? Rear brake rotor warp? Was the tire rubbing the seat liner? |

you reckon it was just the old tire giving its death rattle, then? I wasn't able to replicate the problem; I'll try going around the block with my lady later to see if the issue comes back [when i get the bike out of the shop probably this evening] - rear brake rotor appears to be fine the rear wheel hugger doesn't appear to have contacted the tire and the hugger didn't contact the seat... |
