I've done an HID upgrade on my headlight and would like to upgrade to LED bulbs in my tail/brake light and turn signals. As I read on BWB about changing the bulbs, I am wondering if they will work correctly w/out changing flashers, etc. due to lower resistance. I would like to add these to the tail/brake light because they have a built-in modulator: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index .cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F115x-x3W .htm#photos Does anyone know if these bulbs will work for my 99 S3T? I also wanted to upgrade my turn signal bulbs to LED. Is there an option that will work that would just be plug and play w/out having to change anything else? All help is appreciated as usual! |

If you're changing signals, you need to either add resistors or change the flasher. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/16086.html Plug and play. The only thing about the bulbs you've selected is, you'll have two pinpoints of light inside your S3's lens. Think about it this way - the stock bulb sends light out the lens. And back into the reflector, where it bounces around, and lights the whole lens. If it was me, I'd get LED bulbs that have LED's pointed in ALL directions, to maximize the light footprint. Or, do what I did and put the circuit board from a Ulysses taillight into your S3 (mine's an S2, same light):
The two 3-led strips above are actually out of an emergency Whelen TIR-3 cop light, I have them wired to the brake switch and a wig-wag (side to side) flasher. Four flashes per second gets their attention:
