Went on a dinner ride with 13 other bikes tonight. Mostly highway with a touch of city riding. I covered almost 160 miles tonight on the X1...averaging 56.8 MPG. Sounds a little high to me. What do the rest of you guys usually get?? |

I get 55mpg on the hwy w/my 99 S3, so I don't think you're out of the norm. Have gotten as much as 57mpg! |

I've seen 60 on my S2,but more like 48 to 52 on the other Buells I've owned. |

My tubers are always low-50s; XB, mid-40s (Uly with big ol' bags causing airframe drag); CR is mid-30s (drawback of automotive-level HP ratings is automotive-level fuel consumption...has nothing at all to do with my right hand...lol). |

Most of the ride was in the 70-75mph range. The bike has a V&H exhaust and race ECM on it. Most of my other bikes (harleys) usually got around 40-44. |

Nope, right in line w/my X-1's. Low to middle 50's, cruising in the upper 60's MPH. Have done upper 50's MPG before. And the XB tends toward the 46-48MPG range. |

My X1 gets 50 mpg pretty easily. I could probably get more but that's not as fun. |

My trip to Philly last summer on my 2000 X1 Lightning yielded 51.058 mpg. And that was a new to me bike with a little over 10K on the odo. Put a new ETS and O2 on her and rode it! For all those that hesitate and worry before a trip, there is always the BRAN and U-Haul if you need it. ENJOY your bike(s)! This is why Erik made them for us. |

I'd like to know how you manage to do this: " cruising in the upper 60's MPH." |

And if I'm on open highway I like 80 to 90mph. Right around 4000rpm. |

Never measured it. I just fill it up as soon as the yellow light comes on. Not a minute later..... (Message edited by kalali on August 02, 2012) |

Along the same lines...How far do you guys go on an x1 before the light comes on. I have not seen it yet, but I usually find fuel about 120-130 miles. |

My light comes on around 185-190 miles. |

I never wait till the light comes on since I never know when the next fill point will be. |

I'm not even sure my light works! I've never seen it come on. I hardly ever take it super low but iv had it to "cant see the fuel when rocking" and the light was still not on. point being i don't risk it either, nothing more irritating or frustrating than running out of gas. |
