I have the XT 2 months now, it has a Remus exhaust with the little fuel module that comes with it, standard headers which are smaller diameter than US headers as my bike is euro spec. I dont think its as strong as it should be, seems very poor on the lower rev range. Its yet to lift the front wheel off the throttle, thats not what I'm wanting to do but I'd imagine it should pop the wheel if given enough stick in 1st/2nd gear???? I weigh 196lbs suited and booted. |

In our opinion the stock 1st gear ratio on the Uly is too high for real wheelie shows. However, 2nd or 3rd gear at 3500 - 4000 RPM is another different story. YRMV Of Course (Message edited by Buelldualsport on August 03, 2012) |

so you reckon at 3500-4000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd she should be lifting the front just on throttle?? |

OH YEAH! A good stiff second gear around 4000/4500 lifts it REAL nice, ride it like it belongs to your brother! (just kiddin). It should have a pretty decent power band. I have an 08 XT, Maybe it has so much power, (it's BLACK).The black ones are faster you know |

There was a thread a couple of months ago, and a lot of differing performance reports. Some say 3rd gear power wheelies, no problem - with a stock bike. Others, like myself, are seeing more like 2nd gear wheelies, maybe, if I hit the power band just right, and other factors all line up. otherwise my bike runs just fine, so I,m OK with it (a little stronger hit would be nice). Your bike is probably running about right if your not having other problems. |

It takes some real effort to get my front tire off the ground in any gear... I've been thinking that there is something wrong with my '08 since I bought it in May. Now I see that I have the tell-tale cracking around the ECM connector... sure would be nice if I could afford and EBR ECM... or even a good used stocker! |

"it has a Remus exhaust with the little fuel module that comes with it." The Remus can is a great bit of kit and the Powerizer works well. It adds fuell to the low and mid rpm range which is were it is needed. I had this and the can on my 06 bike and it was great. You can take it off or it may have a switch to allow you to turn it off without affecting the std ECM fueling. Do not remove the Powerizer Earth on its own or it will block the injector signal and the bike will not run at all. With the 06 bike was hard to keep the front end on the ground and I think Buell have done something to help with this on the later bikes. One may be the fuel mapping and the other may be a changed cam shape on the fuel stack. |

I can lift the front wheel in first on the throttle around the 4000 rpm mark. I can't lift it in second gear without the clutch unless I pump the bar hard or get a little assist from a dip in the road or the crest of a hill. Not a chance in third gear. I also notice that I seem to lose a lot of mid-range punch when the engine is hot. The engine is much more authoritative when cold. I could probably power it up in 2nd within 20 minutes of leaving the house. It's a bit of a dog otherwise. |

Buewulf. Is running a 06 US bike and the headers are the same on a 06 UK/EU bike. Its easy to get the front end up. The bike needs a fueler, like a Powerizer, to make the low/mid range better. It works and is what I had on my 06 bike. Or a map rework but that is not easy to get right and you might need a lot of Dyno time as well. Weecorey. Is running a 08 UK/EU bike that have the smaller headers. The 08 US bikes headers are still the bigger ones the have always been in the states. The smaller headers, fitted to meet EU emissions laws, will not help the issue any. My 2010 bike does not "leap off the ground" anything like as easy as my 06 bike would. "Been told to dump the Remus powerizer by a couple of people!" Easy to do. It just plugs in line to the injectors. You do not even need to un-wire it from the bike. A couple of things though. First, since you did not fit it, is it the right version for the bike year? The injector leads are not "keyed", if I remember right, so are they the right way round? It sounds like you are not getting a CEL so it either has a actuator dongal or it has been switched off with ECM-SPY or other system. If ECM-SPY has been used maybe they messed with other parts of the ECM prog as well? Go back to stock to work through the problems but the can should run fine. The Remus can run fine even without the Powerizer on my 06 bike. I have a Stealth can on my 2010 bike and thats fine as well. If the bike idles ok hot will only a few vibs, no decel popping or surges, you get normal mpg for the bike and no flat spots in the rev range (most noted at 3000rpm) then I would say the bike is running as normal. But it could STILL have a problem? My 06 bike had a Earth fault that caused the ECM to not change the timing as the bike got hot. Very strange and took me two years to figure it out? 10 mins and it was fixed and may the bike great. Best of luck. |

Dont know what the story is or is it all in my head? I raced an SV650 for the past 3 years, 89bhp at the rear wheel so I keep comparing the XT to that, but then again the XT is almost 2x the cc. I'd just like the Buell to have more punch, really seems flat at the lower RPM. Maybe an EBR ECM??? |

Weecorey, an EBR ECM will help, but given your bike is Euro spec it won't have anywhere near the punch of the older spec and American spec bikes. Get some nice headers and a custom tune and enjoy 3rd gear wheelies |

"I raced an SV650 for the past 3 years, 89bhp at the rear wheel so I keep comparing the XT to that, but then again the XT is almost 2x the cc." That could be part of the problem. A SV650 to a XT is like "chalk and cheese". The long stroke XB engine is never going to rev like a modern V-Twin. Sounds to me like a Aprilia Tuono would give you what you want. The XT is more of a touring bike. |

Uly_man... I love my XT, just needs a little fine tuning, touring is the reason I bought it, to take my wee lad away camping ect but I do use it to and from work in the dry. |

Weecorey - Hard to know what you are looking for but try this. Get the revs to 4k plus before changing up. If the bike still seems weak then you DO have a problem. The bike/engine needs a diff sort of way of riding it than most other bikes. Take a few hours out on a dry day and play with the bike a while. I think you will like it even more. Its never going to be a super bike though but it will handle like one. |
