Author Message   Ebear Posted on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - 02:28 am:        This Weekends AMA Venue, Mid-Ohio of the Great State of the same name didn't give up easy. Temps in the mid to high nineties and humidity about the same made this Doubleheader a tough one, on both Man and Beast! It also wreaked havoc on the tires, with both riders seeing front tire degradation. The track was recently re-patched and this left a fine dusty surface which made the first practices quite slippery.But this didn't stop Danny from putting the most laps in and laying down some rubber to get things going! With only one real rain for the weekend, which in my experience is quite unheard of for this location and time of year, the rubber stayed put. I recall several years ago it raining at the start of a race, so the trucks were brought out and the blowers worked madly to eliminate the wet threat. Race started and rain returned on the second lap! Giant blowers did their roundy round again, bikes re-gridded,race restarted and with just a few more laps...the clouds gave it another shot! Three was the charm but the calamitous race finished in near dark. Fortunately this wouldn't be the case as most of the races went off when scheduled. Mr. Slick Wowing the crowd on Race Day.
