Is it just me or is the Uly very sensitive to tire pressure? I am a new Uly owner but had a couple of XB's in the past. Still have the D16s on my Uly and if the pressure goes down even a couple of pounds the bike feels very different, skittish even. I have no complaints about the tires when the pressure is spot on but will other tires make an improvement? |

It's your tires. Switch to PR2's or Bridgestone BT-023(or GT). I switched to the 023 GT. I am 225# and ride 2up often. The GT model has a stiffer sidewall. I am very happy with the ride and wear. |

It is your tires, the D616 is terrible if you don't have perfect pressure or tread. Put on some Pirelli Angel ST or Scorpion Trails. |

I'm loving my new 023's, 36F/40R, best overall tires I've used in 84K on this bike. If the rear lasts at least 6K I'll consider them perfect. |

I, on the other hand, went with the Pirelli Angel ST and hold a steady 36F/37R. That affords me the best mileage from a tank of fuel, averaging between 45-50mpg, as well as the longest life of the tire. I got over 8000 miles from the last Angel rear. From the original Pirelli Diablo Stradas that came with the bike, I got 7000 rear and 14000 front. It's all about being a tire pressure nazi. |

Thanks guys, which of those are for primarily road use with a little gravel road/off capability just in case? |

Thanks guys, which of those are for primarily road use with a little gravel road/off capability just in case? Your D-616's or Froggy's Scorpion Trails IMO. I don't (try to) use my Uly off pavement anymore, my skills there suck and I bought it for riding the Third World crap paved roads here in CA anyway. That realized I only look at sport touring tires anymore. The 023's, RoadSmarts, and Syncs I've used in the past have all met my needs on the road. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any of them on loose surfaces but that's my opinion. |

"Is it just me or is the Uly very sensitive to tire pressure?" No it is not VERY pressure sensitive. On the other hand you can FEEL 2psi on the bike if it is well setup, good rubber, good rider and riding the bike hard in bends and the like. My tip is to ALWAYS use your own/same pressure gauge as others can vary GREATLY and will confuse the issue. |
