Shane, I'd suggest you cut south on 78 from Mt. Horeb. That road would give you a good taste of typical WI highways. Then you can cut across to 61 or cut south on I-88, I-74. |

Shane, It's a bit of a long shot, but when do you think you'll hit the St. Louis area? If things go well the next couple of evenings I should be there Thursday afternoon. Loren, BTW, I should be arriving Thursday night. :-) |

I really don't have a handle on timing as they are all unfamiliar roads. And off the interstate it seems to always take longer than expected. I am planning Wednesday Thursday Friday for the trip down because it's going to be HOT! Especially for someone from the rain forest. I wilt in the heat. I should have some idea about St.Louis timing by Wednesday night. If I do try out 78 it looks like a lot time for the miles. Depends on my mood when that intersection shows up in front of me. Today is oil change and repack muffler. Note to self ... no steel wool, real fiberglass exhaust wrap this time. |

So Brad, you were right, I did also have an exhaust leak. I noticed when changing the oil filter that the front pipe is cracked all the way through right at the 2into1. I was able to find a welder to weld it up right on the bike. He was able to weld up 95% of it so I am good to go. |

Understand completely, Shane. If you want to touch base Wednesday/Thursday give me a yell - three one seven - eight zero 9 - one eight zero eight. Same for anyone else running close to Indianapolis, St. Louis, and down I-44. |

Bummer Shane, we should have put it up on the rack here. I could have taken care of it as my mig is currently set up for stainless.... |

Roger - On paper I should make Ciuver River St Park on Wednesday night. That is about 450 miles of hiway and byway. Reality may be different. I should then be at I44 at Cuba sometime Thursday morning. If I am having a ok time dealing with the heat I am thinking to continue on south on 19 all the way to Arkansas. Then head west 62 or 14/62. If not then I 44 and into Rocky Branch Thursday evening. (Loren - I most likely would be there after dinner if that route plays out.) Roger if I-44 we can maybe rendezvous along the way. So many roads, so little time. I guess then there is always another time. |

For everyone. Try to avoid going through Bentonville, AR in route to Rocky Branch. The town has some of the worst stop and go traffic and in the HEAT it really is not fun. |

Will be heading out in a couple of hours. Will be overnighting at my parents house in PA. Wednesday evening I'm hoping to be just north of Lexington, KY. Thursday evening I'm hoping to be in north-eastern AR... Arrive at Rogers, AR mid-day-ish Friday... Fingers crossed... I don't have online access after tonight, so if anyone needs to get in touch with me (breakdown, meet up, etc.) my cell is 7167254279. Bluetooth in the helmet is as technologically advanced as I have gotten. Provided I have cell coverage in some of those area's. If you hear banjo's playing in the background, it's not my cell phone music! Call for help!! |

Looks like another hot and windy day here in beautiful Kansas. I'm feeling like a bit of a slacker with not leaving home until tomorrow late morning. I did get the S2 to out and gave her washin'. You guys stay hydrated. Loren |

'I'm feeling like a bit of a slacker with not leaving home until tomorrow late morning." I'm not leaving until mid Friday morning. Any thoughts on bypassing Bentonville? I was thinking of 340 at Bella Vista over to 94 thru Pea Ridge and down to 12. |

Kim and Cherlye had to return home. Lynn and I are still moving towards Parsons. Wind is not as bad and temp is perfect and overcast. We are just east of I35 on 35/400 taking a break. Frank |

No Brad, they are out. This opens up a cabin for someone. We arrived in Parsons. I am looking forward to a relaxing evening and early bed time. Frank |

Had an issue pop up with my recent acquisition today. I've been focusing in getting the belt and isolator changed along with a few other minor details. Ran out of gas this morning which would put me at about 16 mi/gal. I've left the gas on twice overnight, but don't think that would have that bad of an effect (too used to FI). Maybe the bike has set so much that the float is gummed up? I don't trust my abilities to rebuild a carb tonight and leave tomorrow. I'm leaning toward that with hopes things will get better with a long ride. Otherwise I may have to ride the 1125. :-( |

Has anybody noticed, that there is a town called Buell, located just south of Ft. Smith? I was thinking of swinging through there on my way and getting a pic. Did anybody plan that into any of the routes? Sure would look good to have a line of S2's in front of the "Welcome to Buell" sign. |

Well I hope Brad didn't waste his time washing his bike before he left. He's probably in one helluva thunderstorm right now coming down to my place. |

Mike, post up when Brad arrives. Jack, I hope everything went well, if not I hope you are on another bike and on your way. Lynn and I will head out sometime in the late morning. We are not in a hurry to cover the last 135 miles. Shane checked in.... He really covered a lot of ground today.... He is setting up camp. |
