Does anybody use one? What is the sizing like? Competition Accessories has a sale on right now and it's the right time of year. Thanks. |

This is the one that catches on fire, right?? (YES) Choices are, in order of effectiveness: 1. Gerbing's! (I like mine) 2. Sew my own (works great, BTW) 3. Just be cold (Man up! Rode from ARK to CA last month with no heated gear) 4. Buy the one that bursts into flames.(Uhhh...NO) (Message edited by datsaxman on February 12, 2011) |

Uh, it works great, when it works. Two controllers in a row died mid trip on me. I cut out the stock plug, rewired to use a Gerbings knob controller. Much happier. Their size chart is about right. Spandex side panels allow it to hug your torso well, transmitting the heat well. I'm 6' tall 40-42 inch chest and believe I'm wearing the small or extra small! Comfortable, good even heat. Lousy controller. Though they will warranty it, and did twice, I just spent the money on a quality controller. The power went into the vest first and that plug mated up with the knob controller. Removed the controller plug and tied the wiring (front and rear panel) into that plug. Works great NOW. |

I love my electric vest and recommend it to every motorcyclist I talk to. I got mine from Aerostich and my wife has the whole jacket liner from BMW. After staying out into the wee hours of the morning on bike week in Laconia, the 30 mile drive back to a friend's house was done at 45 degree with no fairing. My mind was only on the cold and not riding safely and staying alert. I could hardly operate the levers and shopped for electric gear the next week. I now ride every month of the year (in NH and Maine). I have ridden in 35 degrees with comfort and after a while I have to turn the vest off as I get too hot! I keep it on the bike at all times because you never know and passengers get cold too. I have an outlet that allows me to wear the vest on the ride and then plug in the batteytender when I am done with the same plug. I LOVE MY VEST! |

I just got off the phone with Helmet House (Tourmaster)and the woman said that the new controllers do fit the old style gear with an adapter and they will send one to me asap. |

I thought they were gonna just send me the adapter but they sent me a dual controller with the "Y" adapter too and now my heated vest works again!! |
