I hate it when people just say "make me an offer". I don't really know what it's worth, and I don't know where to start. $1.00, I suppose, but the seller might not like that. LOL. |

I just wonder if the 08 onwards cold befitted to a 2006 using the TB and the cable work of the 06, just a curiosity except of the oil pump change and the newer ecm i suppose the base is the same. |

I saw a write up recently from someone who did just that. I think he had to change a connector or two and the ecm. Seemed relatively straight forward though. |

Offer him $750.00, He doesn't have any plans or need for it. Be ready to do a lot of work. It would be easiest if you could swap in the whole wire harness. |

The biggest challenge to putting an 08-up engine in a pre-08 XB is the wiring harness. Using the 06/07 throttle body would take care of the lack of IAV wiring, but you've still got the ignition trigger to deal with. The 06/07 uses a trigger "cup" on one of the cam ends; the 08-up engine uses a trigger directly off the crankshaft. Besides connector differences, I have no idea what the differences are in the signals produced by the 2 different triggers are or if the 06/07 ECM would be able to handle the 08 signal. The 08-up also has a different (single phase) stator and voltage regulator, so there are wiring differences there. The guy in the referenced swap thread (like me) ended up also installing an 08 wiring harness and ECM. The harness will set you back about $350 and is a big job to swap out. |

"This is best engine Buell made, he teamed up with Porsche to tune it," ORLY? I recently saw an ad in craigslist for a KE100 and the monkey listed it for $1. I couldn't resist so I sent him an Email asking if he's really selling it for $1. He responded quickly: "No." That's it. Not additional info. just "No." What a tool. Enjoy having your little dirtbike for the rest of your life! |

There is a sucker born every minute and this guy is hoping one buys his engine for the full asking price. Ourdee has the right idea, but I would only offer no more that 500 to begin with and let him counter. That photo of the engine kind of looks like some of the fins are missing on the front cylinder. That really brings the price down to reality in my thinking if those fins have been knocked off during his crash. |
