I know I could ask EBR, but sounds like those guys are pretty busy so I thought I'd try here first. my insurance company is okay with me pulling accessories off my totaled 08 1125R Anyone know if the EBR ECM from my 08 will work directly on the 09 1125R, or will I need to send it in for a reflash? (it's for the stock muffler, which is how I'm keeping the 09 anyway) (Message edited by sprintst on May 16, 2012) |

R to R? if so it should. the injectors are different and there is a change for them but yeah it'll work |

yes, R to R. Will work, but should get a reflash then? |

I would. It'll run fine with the 08 Flash but will run better with the flash for the 09+ injectors. Then again I do my own so i would just adjust it myself. this is a street bike with street harness correct? |

There is no difference between both years with the Race ECM. |

interesting that they could use the same tune when the injectors are different and the oxygen sensors are in different locations. |

I was under the impression the race ECM didn't read the O2 sensors in the first place, no? As for the injectors, the design of the injector head was changed, but the flow stayed the same... At least that's what I remember reading. Makes sense to me that it would be the same across the model years. |

correct the race ecm ignores the O2 sensors and also correct the injector flow rates pressures etc stayed same but the spray pattern is changed. |

This is a street bike, I don't know if it's had the harness replaced, I doubt it with only 120 miles on the clock |

meant street vs. light weight race harness had an issue with a '10 engine and an '08 race harness. never was able to fully determine if it was a shorted harness or if it was incompatible but i had to put the '08 engine harness on the '10 engine to get the bike on the grid.... |

so the race ECM operates open loop at all times? |

I was under the impression that the race ECU did use the O2 sensors in cruise, if they were connected. I don't believe it complains if they're disconnected or bad, though (which, actually, might explain my fuel economy lately...) What it definitely does NOT do is "learn" like the stock ECU does. The stock ECU will learn at cruise from the O2 sensors, and apply this correction across the map. It's an ugly hack for economy & emissions, and you pay the price in smoothness & power delivery. The AFVs are locked at 100%, so the ECU will not change fuel delivery under hard acceleration. As a side note, the race ECU also will not correct for clogged, failing, or sticky injectors like the stock ECU can. |

Actually there are 'corrections' for WOT in the race ecu And because you are also correct iirc the race ecu doesn't learn then there is no need for them to actually use the O2 sensor input.... |
