Jabrien00 I wd. say try adjusting your idle screw so that it idles when hot, around 1050-1100 give that a try first... |

Possible intake leak, or your idle is set too high. |

Check your throttle cable for kinks (and give it some lube). After that...Hmm...Maybe check the housing on the grip as well. |

Set the idle just a hair lower. The XB's are very sensitive to where the idle is set and will do that idle hang if set two high. |

Yep, make sure you adjust idle with a hot bike. Common occurrence with too high of an idle. Could be the intake leak, but I think that's less likely. |

My XB doesn't hang at any RPM, but I've noticed it's kind of slow to idle down after I rev it up a bit compared to other make bikes. It seems like a flywheel effect. Does anybody else's do this? Is it normal for these engines? My idle is set right. Thanks |

Well, they do have a heavy flywheel... The flywheel stores a LOT of energy and is probably the cause of that. I think you may notice that the time a 1203 takes to get from 6K to idle is really close to the same time it take an IL4 to get from redline to idle. |

Yeah, I was thinking it was the flywheel. Just wanted to make sure mine wasn't the only one. Thanks. |

Just like a carbed bike, the fuel supply doesn't shut right down to idle when the throttle is closed. That would be just like switching off the ignition. It's called deceleration enrichment on injected vehicles and it's triggered by the closing TPS for drive-ability. It's what Buell wanted. |

You know, I was thinking that too, believe it or not, because my brother's old '89 Mazda truck with fuel injection did that. It was kind of annoying, so he modified it. It would idle-down fairly quick after that. It actually made it more driveable. |

thanks a lot I tried that and hopefully it would hold. |

Actually, the XB ECM makes it do that. After you let off the gas, the computer keeps the revs from coming down too quickly so the change does not upset the suspension, and to reduce the effects of engine braking. |
