first of all just want to say hi to everyone as this is my first post! Ok dow onto business.. I have a Xb9R and am changing to Mobil 1 synthetic, at the mo i have a mineral oil in there and was wondering if there is any need to do some sort of flush b4 i put the synthetic in? ive heard of synthetics not mixing well with mineral oils. i could dump the mineral then fill with the mobil, run that for a few k's then switch to the mobil one properly. what do u guys think? oh and im doing the same with the trans. cheers morgan |

Morgan, if you're calling 'mineral oil' regular non synthetic oil you're good to go. Just drain it and change the filter. Same with the tranny, just drain it and put in the Mobil 1... What little oil residue would be left won't hurt anything... Kevin |

I never bothered flushing. Just go run the out of it for 10 minutes, let it cool to where you can do the fluid swap out and be sure to change the oil filter. Mine has run great! Talked to a local Buell "afficionado" on a Sunday Morning Ride yesterday, he's got 1000's upon 1000's of miles between his 4 buells - He uses Mobil 1 Synthetic V-Twin on all his Buells. Just fyi. |
