I've found that it's difficult to shift my bike into neutral when she's at operating temperature. I don't have much trouble finding neutral when she's cold, however. Is there any particular reason this in the case?

Yellow ...It may be something to do with to much/not enough Fluid in your primary/Trans??

Check the primary chain tension.... too tight can sometimes make this happen... also when these bikes are new they tend to be a real B*tch to fish out neutral... once broken-in it falls in like a hot knife in butter....

Seems the same with mine. It shifts better when cold. I also heard that a slightly loose primary chain improves shifting (I think on the loose side of the correct spec). I have not tried it yet, nor have I adjusted the level of my Mobil One 75w-90 gear lube.

3 hints for you: excess lubricant, usually 28 fluid ounces is sufficient to bring transmission oil up to level of clutch basket.
insufficient clutch freeplay.
and lastly, i usually shift into neutral while rolling, immediately before a full stop.

I use the rolling shift to neutral trick as well!

If your clutch is not properly adjusted, you'll have a hard time finding neutral when hot. Give your cable adjuster a few turns out and see what happens.

I found that when I put Mobil 1 Gear oil in there, my gears shifted a lot better that that crap the dealer puts in.

Put bike in second, blip the throttle and ease into neutral. Tuber's had the problem too!
