Those of you coming to the Dalles from the north or west might want to experience the Rowena Curves. Personally, I like to run them a few times, ending westbound then taking the back door into The Dalles via Sevenmile Rd. Or, if folks get in to The Dalles early, we could do some local exploring in the afternoon. Just an idea. | ||

I'm up for Rowena Crest, missed that one - looks like fun! FJ - you guys should probably cross into OR at Hood River and get off the freeway east at Mosier to ride into The Dalles - maybe you'll see me going the other way as I'll probably be coming from The Dalles and doing both directions...  | ||

Jimmy, From the Rowena Crest viewpoint at the top, go back westbound towards Mosier then left on Marsh Cutoff Rd, left on to State Rd which eventually turns into Sevenmile and takes you into The Dalles. It's a truly sublime stretch of pavement. | ||

If you come across the Hood River Bridge, have some quarters ready as it's a $.75 toll for motorcycles. The entire length is open steel grate. Ridden it many times and it's no big deal even with that weaving sensation. Of course when the winds really start gusting down the Gorge, it can be fun! | ||

Michael, Rather than coming down the Washington & Oregon coast en-route to Bend, Dave and I are planning on riding our usual (but improved) Mt St Helens route to White Salmon then to Dalles via Eric’s suggested Rowena Curves and time permitting, Seven Mile Hill. We’ll be returning to Canada via the Oregon\Washington coast. I've requested vacation from my employer and will try to make it this year if my 1125R is running by then... She's got 63k miles & needs some maintenance (timing chains & guards, valve shims, etc?). Motor is currently out of frame and case will be cracked open soon to find out what all must be done. If I can go, I'll likely bring my wife on her 2010 Yamaha FZ6-R and will plan to stay at my Aunt's who lives in Bend.
