Long time Lurker, first time owner. Rode the Ully home last night. 300 miles with my son following in race van. I just could not load it up. Got home at midnight and now understand the word permagrin. |

Welcome to the madness! Never hesitate to ask questions here. Many good people on board to help you. Got any pics? Thanks. (Message edited by motorbike on March 08, 2012) |

Congrats, welcome to the club. How many miles did it have and if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it? |

Congrats and welcome. Bad, what someone paid for something is not really a polite question on a public format like this, especially for a new guy who may feel obligated. You could maybe ask with a PM to him. Mileage is a good one though. Pictures, pictures, pictures! |

Congrats, my '08 UlyXT brought me over to riding a bike rather than sitting on a bike. I've since picked up a 99 X1, but the Uly gave me that same permagrin you described! 22K on it since I rode it out of the dealer in August of '08. |

Too clean! Nice bike. I don't know if you are aware that the top bag, if that is a stock Buell bag, is recommended to be there with the side bags. It gets a lot of it's support from the side bag brackets. It shouldn't be a problem, you just might want to keep it's loads light and keep an eye on the bolts once in a while. |

Will do. Thanks for the tip. I put the side bags on last night. Man the stock mirrors are bad. Let the farkling begin. |

At the very least, keep the side bag RACKS on the bike if you're using the top case. The racks are the support. Otherwise? Tail section = diving board. Not a good thing. Enjoy the permagrin!! |

Thanks, I'm looking forward to my first summer with the Uly. My son is 21 and races flat track. He took the bike out yesterday and was surprised at how sporty it is. He says it seems like the best all around bike he's ridden, which is exactly why I bought the bike. |

I took it for a ride this afternoon(after 5 hrs work) with the side bags on. It felt the same. I wonder how the bags affect fuel millage. |

The bags will ding the mileage - airframe drag. Of course, it affects my mileage at 80+ speeds... You won't feel a difference between having the racks there for support, and not having them. But it keeps the tail section from getting stress-cracks...which in my book is a good thing! |

Bags slow you down on the top end speed too. |
