SO, W/ the stock, alls good, and w/ the race, its bad. Did the bad start as soon as you put in the race ecm or was it good for a while? Did you make changes to the ecm and then it went bad? Just me, "and I dont want to step on any toes", but I would only copy and change the maps on you stocker to be the same as race maps, and NOT do the entire eeprom. Like I said, I dont want to contradict anyone but everything Ive read recomends and warns against doing so. jeff |

+1 on copying maps only. |

You can't loading the race fuel maps in your stock ECM, because it is not compatible for loading. Your stock ECM (BUEGC0B0) is not a version (firmware compatible), ONLY BUEJA120&KA210 as I said. Regards. |

Yes, you can copy just fuel/timing race maps to a stock ECM. It is a simple copy and paste. No, you can not or should not flash a different EEPROM to your ECM. |

I'm not putting a new EEPROM on the stocker. I DO want a confirmed good (bad ass?) map to put on it. It's good enough for now (may need a timing tweak). Willing to flash the racer. I will, however, have any/all look at it's existing EEPROM. Don't know how/where to upload, but will send it anywhere. I've only ever used the stocker to rule out the ECM in previous maintnance/troubleshooting. Haven't even put a mile on it in the past 10 years before today. The racer has been great! I don't know why changing a throttle shaft would mess it up. (Message edited by mstrfrz on January 26, 2012) |

BUEGCOBO Uploaded with ImageShack.us BUEKA210 Uploaded with ImageShack.us Tell us how would do you doing????, if each eeprom has different TIMING TABLE/RPM NOT, THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE, NO FUEL/TIMING MAPS neither any value of the eeprom. Just you could doing if you enter value by value directly in the stock eeprom and is a very laborious process, because you have to write it in hex. |

The RPM column and TPS row headers can be changed to whatever you want them to be. For example the second column can be changed from 1200 to 1000 or better yet it should be around 1050. One of the first steps in tuning is adjusting the RPM and TPS columns to make the table more linear using the ROW and COLUMN calculator from xopti's site. Both of those maps are from my '07 Race ECM at different times.

Whoa! Slow down! If it involves a wrench or screwdriver, no problem. But you lost me at Hexadecimal! First things first: Is my Race ECM program messed up? If so, can't we just put a new Race EEPROM on it? Second, is there a Race Fuel/Timing map I can put on the Stock ECM? I understand that Race EEPROM's CANNOT be put on the stocker. That's not what I want to do. But what is different between the 2 ECM's other than maps? If I have to abandon the racer, all I want to do is load a race map to the stocker. ------------------------------------------- OK, riding on the stocker, it feels like I'm flooding it if I open the throttle too fast. No real problem of I accelerate moderately. I think advancing the timing a touch will fix this. Also, when I goose the throttle, it dips pretty low befor coming back up. Maybe timing again? |

My bad for getting off subject. In the ones you sent me in the email there are no differences at all. But normally yea the maps would be different and there would be some tweaks on the other maps page for fuel enrichment and such. |

If the 2 are the same, why do they run so differently? It would seem race maps have been previously loaded on the stock ecm. Anyone else care to look @ my EEPROMs to confirm this? (I will copy them again tomorrow and resend to be sure I didn't send copies of the same thing!) |

Mostly because of the differences in components inside the ECM and voltage differences because of that. |

Differences between the 2 ECM's other than maps, in parameters between eeproms BUEGCOBO & BUEKA210-RACE/BUEJA210-RACE and the system configuration: -Idle spark advance/fuel map. -Idle correction for Engine Temperature. -Cold start enrichment. -Acceleration Enrichment. -WOT enrichment. -Open loop enrichment. -Fuel pulse. -Sensor o2 activation/desactivation time. -O2 transitions. -Closed Loop Learn upper/lower limits. -Engine temperature data. -Learning temperature max/minimum. -RPM soft/hard/Kill limit: The Race ECM raises rev limiter 500 RPM and has different ignition mapping and fuel mapping than a stock ECM. NOTE:"These parameters can not be changed at ecmspy(BUEGCOBO), simply because they do not appear". The entire eeprom of the stock ECM "BUEGC0B0" is completely different from the race and it has a very poor calibration, if you don't believe me, you can watch it in software Winols. In addition to the fuel and timing maps, there is other factors in the eeprom that getting the bike runs much better. BUELL RECALLS "SERVICE BULLETIN B-017, MAY 6, 1999" The computer on early 99's should be upgraded with a new program: Buell Motorcycle Company is offering an improved calibration for 1999 X1 and S3 bikes equipped with Dynamic Digital Fuel Injection (DDFI). The new calibration will improve cold start idle quality and address engine stutter issues. VEHICLES INVOLVED: -BUEGC0B0 A - US, California, Canada, Japan, New Zealand. -BUEGC0B0 B - Europe, England. -BUEGC0B0 C - Australia (Message edited by buellisticx1 on January 27, 2012) |

OK, so the stocker can't be converted to a racer. How do we find out if the racer can be fixed? |

I have a program that can blend ECMs as long as it is the same DDFI version. |

Blend? So... make the stocker into a racer? After yesterday's riding, the AFV was 84. Not much better than the racer's 81. |

couldn't get it to run very well today, then not at all. Fuel pump runs, but builds no pressure. Anybody got a part# for the regulator? |

Yes the program can take the settings from the race and put them on the stock firmware. |

Here are some thing that can cause a low afv. incorrect ignition timing and TPS zero setting, high fuel pressure or a leaking injector Have you posted any of this in the Old School Buell section? |

Terrys1980- can you send me a new EEPROM for my stocker? That would seem to fix my race ecm problem. It would follow that the hybrid program would be compatible with either unit. The EEPROM BuellisticX1 sent me is not. Fixed the regulator problem. The 'regulator' is actually a pop-off valve allowing for the release of overpressure back into the tank. I was getting blowby, hence littlenor no pressure. A few o-rings fixed that. So back up and running on the stock ECM. I'd like to install a fresh EEPROM on the racer to see if the data just got corrupted, causing a jump in spark advance at 215C. Anybody got one that they use/are using? Will refer to this thread in Old School. Didn't think anyone over there would be too interested in FI. |

The only EEPROM I have for the X1 is the same one you sent me in the email. The way it works is that you would need to send me the two EEPROMs. The one for your ECM and the one you want to blend onto that firmware. Which ECM are you using right now? the race? Can you connect the stock ECM and get the EEPROM off of it again? Some thing got mixed up with your files if everyone you sent were exactly the same. The Old School Buell section covers all 99-02 X1's. |

BFIUSO is probably the first ECM that was put in the X1 and from what I been reading it does not like changes from ECMSpy. |

I think you got two problems with your bike BUEGCOBO: Idle runs very fine (I watched it in your log sent me) BUEJA120: Idle is bad from 215º, causing a jump in spark . AFV in stock 84, even being the fuel maps leaner than race AFV in Race 81 with fuel maps richer. What makes me think you got two issues: ECM and fuel regulator or Injectors o-rings Give me time because I'm too busy now, be patient, and I will looking for a eeprom same as yours that I turned into a race yeras ago from a Bueller from Nebraska that had an ECM BUEGCOBO andI changed value to value directly into the eeprom. Also I get all version/firmware ECM of the market to DDFI bikes X1&S3. BUEGCOBO as your: NEW USA STOCK: WORLDWIDE STOCK: RACE WORLDWIDE: RACE USA: BFIUSO= Buell Fuel Injection US-(0 the first unit) (Message edited by buellisticx1 on January 28, 2012) |

Ok. Fuel pressure 50lb max, with no leakdown. Had to flip the pump on and off a few times to get it up and hold. I now have 2 EEPROMs to try. A blended one from Terrys1980 and a race one for the stock ECM from BuellisticX1. Thanks, guys! I'll put the first one on the race ECM and see if that fixes anything before messing with my stocker. Hopefully I can get some ride time in tomorrow, otherwise it will have to wait for Monday. |

Back up, back up and backup the stock settings for both ECMs. Burn only the maps to the racer. |

new race maps helped on the racer, but still a no-go. Fuel 'regulator' problem is back; will have to find correct seals for it and do a more extensive fuel pressure test. |

short ride on BuellisticX1's EEPROM. It ran great at first, then wouldn't idle. After about a 5 mile ride, AFV was at 77.2! Going to get at that 'regulator' again, and put new o-rings throughout the fuel system. Anybody got part #'s or dimensions for injector and regulator rings? Any other fuel seals I should know about? |

Ok, thinking out loud here: AFV is the result of engine feedback. Only 4 things tell the ECM anything: TPS, ETS, CMP, and O2. Via ECMSpy, we can see ETS and TPS readings, and, to a lesser extent, CMP data. This makes the O2 a big fat ? So... That's my problem? |
