can we start a thread where we report ebay vendors who buy up perfectly good bikes and then part them out? |

Unfortunately, I doubt it would do any good. I agree, it sucks...but if I can't afford to buy a bike myself, I pretty much just have to sit and watch what whoever has the money for it, decides to do with it. It IS their bike, after all... |

Rest of us still will need parts, and in the long run it will make the rest of our bikes rare machines. |

I've got it. I'm starting a Buell rescue service. You all donate money to the rescue service and I'll buy up Buells when they go up on the market. Sort of like a pet rescue. |

The parts have to come from somewhere. They will stop buying up and parting out Buells when we stop buying the parts off Ebay. |

That would work if every Bueller was also a Badwebber |

So, the one that's got me ticked off is a guy who is posting individual parts from an 02 M2. In each ad there is a montage of pictures and videos of, what appears to be, a pristine 02 M2. A bike that would be a better candidate for restoring. so, this is more rant than anything. |

Yeah, i saw it, and saw a few parts I would like to put in the garage. Guilty as charged about buying parts. Of course after I flipped my bike at the track a few years ago and comparing ebay prices to dealership prices. I got no problem with somebody cutting up a bike and selling me the parts I need. Just don't cut up my bike! |

With the price of low mileage used Buells hitting the $2300 range, we could each just buy our own 'parts bike'? Would that be any better? "Parts is parts." |

I currently have a full set of plastics, an aftermarket race tail section, rims, swingarm, exhaust header, 2 seats, speedo, dash, rear disc, front and rear calipers, and a box of misc. stuff. Engine parts should be available for a long time. I intend on running my bike for a long time! |

I have been watching for my "parts-only" bike for a little while now. How nice would that be to just find one of the bikes from someone's chopper project with everything minus the engine?!?! GIGGITTY! |

I have two of those rolling chassis, a spare for each of my bikes, that someone wanted the engine out of, for that fact I am happy about some of that chopping that is going on. |

Yeah, it sucks to watch 'em die. But...it makes mine that much more desirable in the end. As if I'd consider selling any of them |

I have a frame, front end, bodywork, and smattering of other parts from a 99 Cyclone that I need to unload. I bought it as a project, but the engine case was cracked where the front shock mount goes. I ended up getting an X1 in better shape and now have a garage full of parts to sell. I'm in VA if anyone is in need of anything. |
