Probably turn around and resell for a markup "profit"(Ferengi rule). |

Well damn. I intended for my post to help some others out. I already have a battery cover, and think there a nice addition. When I found the auction, there were 8 available. I looked again an hour or so later, and they were down to 7. I looked again and they were all gone. |

Sure enough. The same guy bought the last 7 for $50 each. Total of 9 sold. |

I found them. The guy that bought them wants 145 dollars now. He paid 50. Thats a hell of a mark up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUELL-X1-BATTERY-COVER-KIT -66714-00Y-BRAND-NEW-99-AND-LATER-RARE-/1208460417 39?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=i tem1c22fc428b |

I gave him an offer of 60 dollars. That's 10 bucks more than he paid. I haven't heard anything back. |

Who's the seller so we can be sure to skip his auctions? There's a few guys out there trying to drive the price up, kind of like the housing market a few years ago. Buell is a small enough scene we can probably help keep the price out of the roof if we watch guys like that, and offer to buy parts at reasonable prices. Otherwise we let them artificially inflate the market. |

Littlebuggles is correct, the Buell niche market is small enough that the enthusiasts should be able to influence it. The only reason prices are skyrocketing is because we are willing to pay. Ebay has turned us into an auction society rather than supply and demand economics. I for one will try and avoid ebay if at all possible, and then only to make reasonable offers. |

Here is another one , hes buying parts for small money here on Badweb and he demands ridicously high prices on E-bay http://www.ebay.de/sch/davidjayuden/m.html?_nkw=&_ armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50&_trksid=p3692} |

Basti, Yeah, there's another discussion about the same douchebag on another thread. Ticks me off that people will part out good bikes for a profit, this goes to old HDs as well. It made me sick one time when I was looking for parts on egay, and they had a pic of a barn-fresh Knucklehead with the caption "lots of parts coming soon". To part out an old time capsule like that just turns my stomach |
