took my stock motor out and had it stripped down to have it checked out and refreshed by a great buell tech in uk .this motor had done 2800 miles on the black stuff so had had a good beating ,i change the oil a lot and plugs apart from that nothing i also run it on uk pump super unleaded .i spoke to Michael at EBR about parts and went for the new water pump cover and clutch piston up grade kit ,race rod bolts ,new 5th gear up date clutch baskets and valve springs as a start i would order other stuff after it was taken apart .The motor has aways run twinmotorcycles fuel maps not the same one as different changes were done over the years and a don't run a air fillter.after dropping the motor off it was not long till i got a phone call one of the shimes had come out and the top hat that holds the valve had cracked ,no damage but very lucky and after the whole strip down that was the only thing found and ordering new top hats and collets for the valves to be on the safe side the motor was put back together even putting back the factory clutch back in from new .The pistons and heads were all clean no decoke needed so the fueling was spot on so thanks to Dris at twinmotorcycles ,Michael at EBR for parts and advice and Johnathan at Black Bear Newmarket for the rebuild .This motor is my spare now and what a great one its been all that 2800 full on drag miles and few new parts to refresh it most of them up dates . just waiting for the big guns motor from twinmotorcycles which its being done as we speak |
