Thanks, Vern. I was 'hoping' for a cut and dried way to determine failure but suspected it was several shades of gray! Mine looks very good but I'll keep watching it. Thanks, and Merry Christmas. |

Zac4mac, Does your bike vibrate under all driving conditions? When I bought my bike, the engine vibration was incredible while braking to a stop. Felt like the front wheel was square and the vibration would pound up my arms into my shoulders. Either the previous owner was a really big boy or he had the fork preload adjusted backwards by mistake. I thought my isolator was bad but an inspection revealed otherwise. I'm still attempting to dial in the suspension but the pounding while braking is gone. If you can't find anything else, I'd give the suspension a good look. |

Seems to do it all the time. Not enough discomfort to pay attention to, just different than my 1125R. I don't recall feeling it on any streetbike tho. I got some shots of them - Side-by-side showing length difference.
Either side showing web degrading.

Thanks, Zac4. That's helpful in gauging when to pull one, adjust suspension, etc. Your taking the time to get the comparison pictures and post them is appreciated. I'll be watching it. |

The new front isolator has hurt my gas mileage. Normally I run somewhere around 47 mpg. First post-isolator replacement tank rank just under 43 mpg. Maybe.....it's just that the bike now runs so smooth that I keep forgetting to upshift. 70 mph in third gear is really smooth but probably not so good for economy. Note to self: cruising along below 4k will cost less. |
