Throttle quit working on the way to work today. I'm guessing the cable snapped but may be possible to jump out of guide? Can't remember how it was. Peeked in enough to see a slack cable but at least the carb cam was still attached. It might have broke at the handle bar end. Lucky I was able to ride it back home at idle and put away without having to push or get a trailer. I'll have to take a look tonight.

Thanks LaFeyette for the good info. Your help is always appreciated.

I've placed an order for the throttle and idle cables and should have my parts by Thursday or Friday. Had to pay extra to get my parts a week sooner. You'd think that in a city the size of Houston, TX I could walk in to more than one HD/Buell dealership and walk out with a throttle cable!! They do a good job of locating and shipping parts though so I can't really complain.

Only thing HD dealers stock is chrome bolt ons. Actual service parts need to be ordered, but that isn't a problem for HD riders since they only ride a couple of times a year.

Firemanjim is right, I should've called Al!!! Would've saved about $30.

Next time, I check Al first.

Did have the parts guy check for the Blast part numbers too. Didn't have those in stock either but he said the blast cables crossed to certain year S1's but not to M2's.

My parts did not arrive. I paid extra to have them shipped next day. The stealer, for some reason located them in San Antonio, TX and instead of shipping them directly to me had them shipped to Angelton, TX. Then they claimed they shipped them to me Thursday night. It's Saturday night and I don't have my parts!!! I'm still hoping that they arrive Sunday so I can get back on the road again. I have to wonder why they locate parts and don't have them shipped directly to me? I don't think this would have happened if I ordered from American Sport Bike. Sorry for the rant.

If it's a '99 and you haven't pulled it apart yet, it could be a broken throttle body. Pull the aircleaner off to check.

Back on the road again: ) Such a small task that took me hours to do. Most of that is just how I work. Part is the price of running the OEM airbox. Running like a beast. Don't know if it's anything I did or just the perfect weather conditions but it seems to have a couple extra ponies. I never found any remnants of the broken end of the cable. I don't see why the cable broke? Must have been out of adjustment; only thing I can think of.
