There used to be a bunch of others listed, but I'm not finding them. |

Cool. I think I'm going to go with the falcon performance set. Whats the difference with a teflon and silicone gasket? On the links you showed me they are the same price. |

I couldnt tell you the difference but my guess is that the teflon are the "high performance" gaskets. But thats just a guess. I'd do a Badweb search and google it too. Just remember that the Blast is air cooled so any comparisons should keep that in mind. |

Alright so I went ahead a bought the HD upper set. It comes with a lot of things i don't really need. I guess I just need the head gaskets, rocker cover gaskets (upper and lower), and the cylinder gaskets (which i had to buy separately). So i took everything apart and replaced the Cylinder base gasket, and top en gasket, the O rings under the top one. I also changed the upper pushrod cover orings. I didn't finish putting it back together. I got as far as putting the head back on over the cylinder. I followed ur directions Gearhead so thanks for that. Tomorrow gotta finish putting the rocker box back on. Hopefully everything ends up working. I never done anything this complex on an engine before. Any tips for the pushrods and rocker box? (if anyone sees this before i start up early tomorrow (flying out at 2pm)). |

Tip #1: Dont forget to put the pushrods in! (it happens) Tip #2: Pushrods are different lengths. Put them in the right spots. Tip #3: Valves should be closed when tightening down the rockers and there is a sequence to tightening all the rocker & rocker cover bolts down. Also the 4 rocker bolts may be 2 different lengths. Just pay attention to whether the bolt is actually tightening down and not just bottoming out. Thats all I can think of. Sounds like you're doing fine. Getting the cylinder back on over the piston is the hardest part and you're past that |

Haha yeah, almost forgot the push rod cover lol! also put the freakin cylinder on backwards at first and was puzzled when it wouldn't go on. Actually, I broke a bolt INTO the motor. It was on the lower rocker box. One of the 3 1/4" bolts that hold it in place. So i broke it into the cylinder head and almost cried. Luckily i went to home depot and bought a bit to remove broken or stripped screws and took it out. Then i got a new screw and DID NOT use the freakin torque wrench lol. Yeah so i had to catch my flight home for Christmas break and couldn't finish it in time. We just finished hooking the actual engine up to the frame and I had to leave it. Didn't even get to crank it. Sorry guys! guess i gotta wait till after christmas to see if it will start up! |

Good news! got the blast back together and been riding it around for a few days. No leaks!! She seems to ride a bit different too. Sounds a little more throaty. Also, im not sure why but when i was taking it apart, one of the orings thats supposed to be under the gasket on top of the cylinder (theres two) wasn't an oring at all, it was a freakin piece of plastic. It had dug into the actual gasket and was def contributing to the leak :l Wonder who's genius idea that was. She also seems to accelerate a little slower. not sure if that the 12lbs from Christmas making me lose a horse, or something else :P Now I can get some other mods done! |

Maybe primary a bit tight - if slight power loss. Great job on the rest! Just fought off some leaks myself - enjoying not seeing oil spots on the garage floor. EZ |
