I just think it's my God-given right to say bad words. And good words. If it's about the boss looking over your shoulder, well, wait till you get home. To paraphrase; ...the track is for racing, the job is for working...something like that. Hey check this out. My '00 S3+ killed it's self at about 17,000 mi. Turned out it was a defect from The Factory. The crank was misaligned in the cases and it tore up most of the motor. Four years out of warrenty, and I'm getting parts and labor paid for by, yes, The Factory! Ain't I a lucky ! sooner, Galen |

>>>I think the goals are just to keep badweb a site you can browse while you are at work. I agree. Character building is beyond our scope. |

The BBS filter is a bit overzealous wrt symbology. I'll ratchet it back to stage-2. Once things calm down we can once again do away with it. You don't have to be in Church to speak considerately. Vulgarity in excess reduces the integrity of the site. There is a reason you don't see such language in public. Like it or not, this is a public place and is intended for family use/access. I hope everyone will put personal desires aside and support the very limited content policies of the site. Trust me, I wrestle with this issue a LOT. When it comes down to it, if due to vulgar content I am embarassed to refer a friend or acquaintance to BadWeB, then it's time to institute the filter. This topic is not a discussion thread. Please limit content of posts here to actual suggestions. Mike, Post an emoticon like you are wanting, and I'll gladly add it to the collection. Sounds like a worthy new subtopic for the suggestions thread. Cheers all, Blake |

CJ, Find it and post it in the new subtopic above. Besides the \image{} tag you can link to existing web images using the \imagelink{URL} tag, where "URL" is the internet address of the pic file itself. For example the URL of is... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/happy.gif Cheers, Blake |

Done! Thought I did that a long time ago. Apparently I edited an obsolete html file where the current version of Discus uses template files instead. Found 'em and edited them. And the board didn't crash. |

Badweb needs to sell T-Shirts and Hats, otherwise I will have to buy mine from a triumph website. |

I seem to recall someone else suggesting that replies within a topic be sorted in descending order by post date so that new replies are at the top of the post rather than the bottom. I'd like to second that suggestion (or third or fourth or...ah, you get the point!). |

It would be cool to have a way to view all users with links to their profiles. There may be a way to do this now but I have not found it yet. BTW: Badweb rocks! |

I tried to make a duplicate post in the tale section using the pics I already uploaded in the Stormfronts section. When I previewed the post all the pics and pic tags were gone. Are we not able to use the same pic tags we used in the original upload? Meaning I have to upload them again? That seems like it would take up too much space to have to keep uploading pics just to use them in another part of the board... |

Wycked, right click on one of your existing pics, then click Properties and copy the URL of the pic. then, in your post, past the pic URL in between the curly brackets in this command: \image link{} PLEASE NOTE that the space between \image and link above shouldn't be there, but i had to do it in this example so you wouldn't see this instead. Jim, Thanks for pointing out the problem. It's fixed. Brenner, How much would you donate for a top quality heavy duty BadWeB T-shirt? I have some permanent markers and some not too used T-shirts. Seriously though, been meaning to get some shirts and others BadWeB stuff for some time now. Keep bugging me and it'll happen. Fdl3, Yours is not a new request. I once thought a reverse listing would be the way to go too, until we tried it. It sucks for all the reasons listed in the opening hyperlink. The "Links" topic is in reverse order though, just cause we can. Matt, It would be cool, but it would allow harvesters of email addresses to run rough shod over the contributors of BadWeB. The alternative is to hide everyone's email address in their profile. We could still contact each other through the board's private messaging utility. Hmmm... might be the way to go. Not sure I can retroactively hide everyone's email though. Users might have to do that themselves by editing the preferences in their user profile. I recommend to everyone who asks that they "hide" their email address. Jerry, Here's a puzzle for ya... \imagelink{pic URL here} You can post a properly formed formatting tag if you precede it with an extra "\". The extra "\" tells the board to ignore the following backslash and just display it as text. I typed... \\imagelink\{pic URL here\} in order to have my post display the above example. Maybe we should start conducting pop quizes for all the custodians.
