this is the emulsion tube i pulled out of my carb today, 96 S1 which i assume is a run of the mill CV40... the jet in the middle is what was in the tube, the jet on top is what American Sport Bike sent me. What is wrong with my carb or emulsion tube....?

this is a pic of the only number i could find on my carb, it says: H34A BKD0. the carb has the keihin logo on it as well. the jet that American Sport Bike sent says CV40 so i assume it is a keihin jet, also it doesnt look like a mikuni to me.

What is the # on the mj that was in the carb....There are several outfits that offer a special needle jet that use mikuni mj's. Your probably going to need a needle and needle jet to go with Al's mj to put it back to stock. |

thanks for the reply, the jet that came out of my emulsion tube is a 160 BUT i think i just found my problem..... i believe the previous owner put a dynojet kit in this carb, after searching for an hour i finally found some clues 1. the 160 that came out of my carb would have been pretty lean on a stock buell much less a modified buell if it was in fact a keihin jet (which it obviously is not) 2. the needle i pulled off of my slide is a d-146 (dynojet) with the adjustable c-clip 3. the emulsion tube i pulled out is in fact a dynojet tube conclusion: the previous owner installed a whatever stage dynojet kit in this bike with stock exhaust and stock intake. i really wish i tore into the carb before ordering all my stuff because i would have a CVP emulsion tube on the way!! i already installed the CVP fuel inlet so it would have been nice to order the tube too. i never thought about someone putting a carb kit in an unmodified bike but now i do. my first Buell had a mikuni in it and i put a thunderslide kit in when i fitted the aftermarket intake and exhaust so this is the first CV for me now i just need to get a stock tube or a CVP or Yost.... |
