Need to know how to get the side cover off to install the EBR clutch cylinder repair kit. Took all the bolts out and cover is loose but still feels like something is holding it on. Center bolt under puck cover just spins. Didn't want to put anymore force into it because I was worried about breaking something. Any one else done this repair? Did a search but came up with nothing.

Do you have a service manual?

Well, I know the answer to that question, so go get one. ; )

Yes, I'm being a little coy, but YOU DO WANT this manual.

Use a 5mm allen to hold the "axle" so you can get the spherical nut off.

Yes I am getting a manual, but needed to drop my car off to get fixed, and needed to ride the bike to work. Who has the best on manuals?

This is one of those you just lube up and take on, so far as I know.

I think I paid $60 for the service manual at a dealer.

You might try a Buell friendly dealer and see if they will sell it to you at a bit of a discount.

At least it's $60 well spent.

IMHO, you can get by with just the mechanical manual. The electrical diagnostics manual is less critical.

That's what I'm finding online $60.00.

Get yourself a nice inch pound torque wrench as well as it looks like the spherical nut and the cover bolts don't require much torque. Not sure how sensitive they are, but considering the fair amount of leak issues that have been reported I'd go by the book to eliminate installation as cause for future leaks (cross fingers).
Oh BTW - don't buy the cheap in/lb wrenches that start at 120 in/lbs as the lowest reading. Those are basically re-calibrated ft/lb wrenches and are useless in my opinion.

Don't you need the locking tool for the crank for this to work a bit better? I think the service manual lists it.

> Don't you need the locking tool

No. If you are pulling the whole clutch basket, yes, but in this case we are just removing the bits that travel radially and separate the top (clamp) plate from the stack.
