wondering where i get a "bit" the same as the alan type that come in the tool kit. The one that takes off the seat bolt's / clutch cover, many others. I need to replace the cylinder due to clutch weep. Since I don't have the bit I can tell the tork value. Is it standard size, I can't seem to fine one anywhere. The little key type is a pain... I think you mean torx, Alan keys (hex key) are 6 sided flat, the reverse of a bolt if you like ! Any tool shop should have a cheap set of torx, but they are made of soft metal and twist, buy a decent set. And to take off the clutch cover use a normal socket | ||

You are probably referring to Torx not Allen bits. Most of the fasteners on the bike are Torx size 30, with a handful being bigger or smaller depending on location. The seat screws are Torx 30 too. You can get a set of various size Torx drivers and sockets at any hardware store and some big places like Sears or Wal Mart. I recommend picking up a few different types, as sometimes one tool works better than another depending on how tight of a space you are working with, or how much force you need to apply. | ||

I went to NAPA and got a couple sets of various torx impact bits. Size-wise they range from 1/4" drive to 1/2" drive, can be used on any of my hand ratchets, my 300-in-lb 1/4" dewalt impact driver, or my 300-lb-ft 1/2" drive dewalt. And they have a lifetime warranty. And they do honor it. I've used it. A lot. Aaron knows me now..."strip another one, didja??" as soon as I come in the door  | ||
