Had a bike show in town this weekend, put on by the local "Harley riders club". Two Buell's showed up, A Firebolt and my 2000 X1. We Buellers were chatting and cleaning when the organizer walked up. "what category do you go in?" he asked to himself with quite a perplexed look on his face. He called over some back-up for a confab. after a few minutes of discussion they still had no answer. "How about the BadAss category" i chimed in. No one even looked my way. Well i thought it was a good idea. We Buellers just stood there grinning watching the Harley guys flounder. Finally the organizer pronounced "we'll just make a Buell category". Bigger Bueller smiles sure is nice to not "FIT IN" Yet another reason to love your Buell |

How about "Performance"? I doubt there's a sportster that could out handle or out run a Buell! Josh |

My 2000 X1 did the same I took 1st place at the international Budwiser motorcycle show in Baltimore 10 years ago. They had me in the sportster conversion class. it felt good to beat all of the HD bikes out, then did it again for a second place same show a couple of years later |

Same here, my S3 was thrown in the sportster class at a dyno shootout. Those sportsters didn't stand a chance. |

LOL, was it stock? And if a sportster has thunderstorm heads, Buell cams, and buell pistons...... Is it still a sportster? |

I guess they could have created the "What the sportster would have become if H-D hadn't stuck their head in the sand in 1962" category : ) |

I know right? I think if you're gonna call something a "sportster" it should at least look sporty right? I don't like I. When I see a sportster with ape hangers, a windshield, saddlebags and a sissy bar. I guess it would've been cool if they let Erik Buell design the sportster line. The XR1200 looks pretty sweet, of course it weighs a ton and has an exhaust the size of a howitzer. |

3rd place w/ a turbo S2 8 years ago in the metric class at a H-D shop's annual bike show. Maybe I should have cleaned it. |

If you put a cam, new heads and pistons on a Camaro, is it not still a Camaro? I entered my cafe Sportster in a show once - I think I was grouped with the Buells but if I remember right, there were no Buells and maybe only one other XL. I took first place, lol. |
