My bad Nuts! Just woke up and got your message. If it helps any I did get a good smile out of the note. Anyways, the skinner is officially in the glovebox and available to you at any time. We really do need to catch up and I want to hear all about the hunting adventures since I am no longer a natural born killer. |

Had a button buck bed 24 yards from me yesterday for 58 minutes. You know sitting still is not a strength of ole NUTSy. I let him walk cause he was so little and I need to focus on does to get the herd #'s down. |

Good choice Nuts but I will warn you not to watch them bedded down for to long lest you suffer the fate of your poor ole' pal. I'd still be out whacking them if I wouldn't have watched the does and fawns interact. I never thought I'd be one of those people who attribute human emotion to animals but something about that scene changed my way of looking at them. That being said, I can't wait to sink my teeth into a juicy venison steak or grilled patty . Thats pretty hypocritical isn't it? |

Nuts, Come get this knife and bring me some MEAT!! I'm about spent on the chicken (I'm eating an average of 30 chicken breasts a week ) and fish (5-6 pounds a week) so I need some variety. The kids are here most of the time or you can leave it in a cooler if I'm asleep. You got until this time next week or I'm gonna hunt you down and cut off your pinkie toe with it. |

Well ain't this a kick in the scrotum? Put the skinner out for my buddy and he doesn't come get it. Kid goes on the last race of the year and doesn't post up how it went. Its a sad, cruel world I'm hoping he's just being a butthole instead of being laid up in a body cast |

Didn't go racing due to reed petals looking like jack-o-lantern teeth. No replacements to be found in time to run the race. The skinner is on the radar, just have to get myself over to that side of town. Been at the happy hunting grounds every day fine tuning tree stand location. I've had reason to nock my release every day. Just need to be a little better hunter. There's a half a doe made into fat free burger that I can pick up on Friday and will be for my sensitive, reformed, killer buddy. Where's Charlie been? Probably wrapped up in some 2stroke Frankendirt-tracker. NUTS |

Charlie's still lurking........dirt trackers are just collecting dust this year. Rider is too busy working on his doctorate right now, maybe next season or if I live long enough the following year. |

Now that is some impressive business right there Charlie! Now I feel like I wasted my life since I haven't really accomplished much . As far as living long enough, I bet you got another 20-30 years in ya' easy. Got to try out the Rizomas today and was amazed they actually work as good as the factory mirrors despite being considerably more compact and stylish. You guys should see the Christmas list I handed my wife. Her jaw bout hit the floor when she saw it was 2 pages long. |

Jaxson, Thanks for the vote of confidence, but if I'm gonna live to be a hundred I gotta get started building those training wheels for the Buell. I'll bet Santa has a blast filling your Christmas lists |

I put Pops in the spot last night for a chance at a deer with his bow. Just like I told him it would happen; it did. He came to full draw at 24 yards and decided to let down cause she was just a litlun. He showed great control, something I have yet to master. Once this rain gets outta here we'll get up the mountain to give it another go. I have a 100% streak of seeing deer from the stand at this place. Charlie, Buell's don't need training wheels. Throw it in the back of the truck and have your wife drive ya 'round the country while you rev it up. Skip the helmet and get one of those mohawk wigs! |

Charlie, you could weld up a frame to hold the cyclone slideways with the front wheel climbing into the air. Just like the boys in MotoGP do; smoking rear tire and all! Honky, I passed on a button buck again last night 21 yds out. Pops saw 17 deer and he was excited, 'til he got busted by the scout doe from 12yds behind him.NUTS |

Nuts, Sorry I missed your call buddy. I was headed back in from freezing my sack off. When we headed out this afternoon it was pretty pleasant but let me tell ya', by the time we made it back to Roanoke it was dark and downright cold. I knew we was in trouble when we still had 45 miles to the edge of town and the clock read 5:15 . Glad i went though since I probably only have a few more riding days this season. Congrats on another successful hunt! I meant what I said about going with you during rifle season. I wanna watch you in action. I enjoyed the visit yesterday as well and woulda hung out longer with you and Seth but my belly was screaming for some rice and chicken. We gotta hook up again soon to finish catching up.

Whale of a night fellas. I was hunting on the edge of a meadow and near to 5:00 a limping doe steps out 50 yds in front of the .30-06 my Pops gave me when I turned 16. I let her have it and found her piled up by a pine tree a few minutes later. When I rolled her over I found that she was the same deer I arrowed last week and couldn't track down. Boy am I glad she's in the back of the truck now. THe wound looked clean and the exit already had a big scab formed, so I think she would've survived that injury. I hate putting holes in the critters without finding them and there's the sweet taste of redemption to savor now. It was nice to have my Pops there with me too. Glad I took the Remington on opening day! But bowhunting is what I'm really all about. Once I get the deer I promised Honky, I'm back to stick and string. NUTS |

Sure has been a dream season. Wednesday evening I had that very same buck step out into the field among 4 does and a 4 point buck. About the time I found him in the scope he spun around and hightailed it back to the woods with the others in tow. It was then that I heard the landowner coming up the driveway and the ringing of the dog's collar as it ran beside the car. I was not a happy NUTS. That was at 5:00 and I'd been sitting quietly since 1:30 in the 30 mph wind and chill of 30 degrees. It took a while but I finally remembered Thanksgiving was only a few hours away and I had much to be thankful for: My wife who encourages my hunting and all the other foolhardy things I do. The landowner and her 65 acres I've all but made my own. The friends and family I have at a moments notice. That buck stepped out in the same place Friday evening. I had already spent a few moments with my finger in the trigger guard and my eye on a healthy doe. The shot was a bit farther than I feel comfortable with so I chose to wait. The buck and I had a standoff for about 20 minutes with him behind a tree and me shaking helplessly. With little light left I squeezed off the shot and saw the mighty king hunch and stagger 20 yards and fall. I called my Pop and thanked him for giving me that Remington when I was 16 and had no appreciation for it. It was his own gun he handed down 'cause we couldn't afford to buy another. He bought it used and never got the chance to shoot a deer with it. We'll be in the woods together on Tuesday and then down in Georgia with my brothers the rest of the week. I'm thankful for these times. NUTS |

Good story Nuts! I miss those times we used to sit around and spin a good yarn. Many good memories started with "There I was" . Good luck to you and pops on Tuesday and in Georgia. I hope he gets to take a crack at old Mr. Bonehead this year as well. That would truly be an Epic season. Charlie, Poop on Tech! If they woulda played somebody good this year they'd be done for the season. Give me some LSU and I'm a happy camper . |

Its dead in here. I know Nuts is hunting but I figured my college football buddy would be on so we could make our bowl predictions. Whats wrong Charlie, Tiger got your tongue ? I knew it was gonna take you a while to recover from that debacle last night but you've already had a day to mourn. |
