Fan fuse keeps on blowing - what is up with that? How do I prevent that from happening, and what is happening? EZ |

Is the fan fuse just blowing when you turn on the bike or is the fuse blowing when the fan kicks on? |

Remove the seat and disconnect the fan connector. On the wiring harness side measure the resistance from pin 4 to ground. If it is anything but infinite, you have a short. On the fan side measure the resistance between yellow/brown and black. If it is less than 1 ohm the fan needs to be replaced. |

Also check to see if the fan spins freely. |

There is really only two things it could be, a bad fan or a chaffed wire. Too bad you can't use a fan from the 1125. There are about a dozen on ebay for $25. |

thanks Terry, there isn't any kind of temp. sensor that I should look at? or relay? so if the fan comes on for a few seconds spins freely then the fuse blows would it be more likely the fan? cuz the fuse didn't blow until the fan came on.. BTW thanks Terry!! |

The only relay in the circuit is the key sw relay that powers the whole fuse panel. The head temperature sensor is a single wire that goes back to the ECM. I'm working on a drawing. (Message edited by TerryS1980 on November 26, 2011) |

This is the fan circuit. Your bike is an 08 so the wire color might not match.

Thanks Tery! It sounds like just changing the fan might be the best bet. The ones on ebay are almost new price so ill give asb a call today. |
