On other bikes I have used the top clamp for a bar riser. Placing the top clamp upside down on the lower clamp raising bars about 1" and then just putting a new factory top clamp with longer bolts. The Uly clamp looks pretty cool and this might be a clean way to do it. Anybody try this? Anybody know the price of a new one or have one they might want to get rid of? |

It does work. I know someone here did it and posted that they have had success with it but, like most details, I can't seem to recall who. I keep meaning to do it but forget to order the part each time I'm within 5,280 ft of a H-D parts counter |

Milo (or Chorizo), Do you recall what hardware you had to go to for the longer length bolts? |

Guys in my old cruiser board used 3/8" drive sockets for risers. But that's the cruiser crowd for ya... Probably not a problem, but I don't like seeing the exposed bolt threads, in the photo above. |

The bolts you need are 5/16x18x2". I wanted stainless but they only had 2 so I went with black. I swap them when I see rust. Looks Just like Milo h above. If Im sure about them I'l grind them flat so you wont see the bolts. Probably lose 1/16" rise. It'll look cleaner. So far so good. |

I saw a post somewhere on this board about the clamp with no emblem. Order this one as its only 12 bucks from the dealer! If you need the emblem it'll cost another 5. I'm surprised how inexpensive some Buell parts are compared to other factory bikes. And less than aftermarket. I decided to try 7/8 rise only because I'll try drop pegs too. I like to stand and stretch often. (Message edited by chorizo on October 08, 2011) |
