Thanks guys... I torque mine the same way, although I think I'm using 46 ft/lbs as the final... It's written down somewhere. Just sort of wondered if the big bearings were going to need more or even possibly less torque? |

I'll guess at least the same. Extrapolate by thinking about torque values on small screws compared to larger bolts. Larger bolts command higher torques other wise they wouldn't be tight enough. Where you'd strip out a 10-32 screw with 25 ft-lbs, it wouldn't do a thing to a 1/2-16 bolt. That's my thinking at least. I'm open to learn different though. |

The instructions show it to be the same procedure as before, 25 ft lbs, back off 2 turns, then 50 ft lbs |

As promised, here are the axle torque specs for the 2010 wheel upgrade: From the 2010 instruction sheet:

Notice the error on #4 of the instruction sheet. It states "Install the rotor with new sprocket screws". I guess they meant new "rotor" screws but either way that's a dead horse we have beaten more than enough. (Message edited by motorbike on September 29, 2011) |

45 ft-lbs is too high on the axle pinch bolt. 40 ft-lbs tops. |

I hurt my bike tonight - somewhere along the line, my thin right spacer for my 2010 wheel fell out. I thing I compressed everything - the bearings won't turn . I did 25lbs ft, 2 turns out & 50 lbs ft. Think I destroyed my bearings? Is the 2010 wheel on my 2008 XB 12x... Mondays... Dean 615 545 1111 texts ok |
