I finally got my '97 S1 back together today, but after I warmed it up,it wouldn't run without the choke pulled out. I had the carb off to replace the top end gaskets, but didn't fool with it at all. I also put new seals on the intake manifold. Anybody have ideas as to what it might be? |

Stock carb? If it won't run without the choke, your pilot jet is probably clogged. rt |

It depends how long it was apart. Just 'happened' from sitting, yeah--pilot jet (thy ALWAYS do that). Based on the work you just did, it might be an intake leak. Not much point in guessing. The carb has to come off either way. Once it's in your hand, the pilot jet is 2 minutes away. I'd check it anyway, then double check the intake seals. |

I checked the intake seals with WD 40 and found no leaks.I havn't had a chance to pull the carb to check the pilot jet as I've been working on an S2 transmission. Thanks for the tips RT and Greg. |
