I'm getting a Hard start when hot, and this is sometimes with a slight popping sound that seems to me is a small backfire. I installed a new boot this season and the bike is stock. It will always start but it takes more cranking than when cold. Any ideas?

Check exhaust evenness and tightness. Check boot mounting.
