After my recent wreck I've decided to put some extra money into upgrading the CR as I repair it. It's pretty much stock so I'm looking for what you guys find to be the best options for upgrades.

-ECM (E.B.R of course)
-HID (still DDMtuning? What kit do I need to buy?)
-Tailchop (I want one that is clean, has a license plate light and retains the stock blinkers)
-GSD Engine pucks (how do I know if I'm rev A or B?)
-High bars

Thanks for your help guys, not sure what I would do without badweb!

Barker for excellent performance and value, KEDA for excellent performance and pure style.

Get these instead, more money, but FAR more crash protection.

5. Blasphemy.......
6. I also have the Barker exhaust. KEDA is nice also.

For the "tail chop" I recommend the Evotech. You can use the stock blinkers.

You guys echoed exactly my thoughts on the exhaust. I would love a KEDA, but Barker is more my price range. The reason I didn't put exhaust on my list is I don't want to buy any exhaust until I hear it in person. I dont know of anybody around here who has aftermarket exhaust.

tailchop is home brew here too. i took oe tail and hacksaw cut it flush to the opening in the tail then used a couple of pieces of 1" alum angle and screwed that into the opening left after chop then screwed plate to the resulting 'cover' over the ends. had to trip the plate to match the curve of the tail. used led turns from cycle gear will post pics later.

Craigg, I'll let you know next time I am heading that way and maybe we can meet up. Do you run a quiet core?

As far as the engine pucks I'm just replacing my pucks cause they are already rashed up from the wreck. Is there a way to check which cover I have currently?

So what is your criteria for an exhaust? Performance, looks, sound, volume or price?

Xbininer I do not run any quiet cores. I was thinking about trying some but not sure which size for sound and performance.

Dean, my criteria for exhaust is, in decreasing order of importance:

Price
sound
volume (or lack thereof)
performance
looks

Your exhaust is probably my favorite in sound and looks, and the performance has certainly been proven. The problem is I'm a cheapwad. I haven't pulled the trigger on any exhaust for two reasons- I don't want something super loud, and I don't want to spend money when the exhaust I have does it's job acceptably.

Maybe some day.

Dean, tell me more. I completely forgot you started out modding stock exhausts before you made the RT line that I love so much. I'll check your website.

Not a lot to it, just takes time and a little $ for tubing. Its midway between stock and an RT-1 for volume. I'm working on getting a spare stock pipe for doing exchanges on them, but to do it they have to be near perfect with no dents. You'd be surprised at how many come in to me that are beaten up pretty good.

The mod actually sounds pretty decent, you can hear the exhaust at 70 mph instead of all the engine clatter.

I still do them on occasion, although I do quite a few more of the custom pipes.

As the proud owner of the original MT series of KEDA products I can tell you that the sound is pure sex. It's just loud enough to make your gonads quiver when you romp on it, and your ears will love you at the track when you pull into the pits and you can still hear.

I really enjoy the Muffled Thunder exhaust. Dean is a welding wizard.

Speaking of welding and Dean... where's my RT-5C going away gift Dean? Haha!

Ok I got my shipment from Erik Buell Racing, is there any article on here that explains how to install the 2010 led light on a 09? I searched but of course couldn't find anything.

Different wiring connectors, you'll need to either make an adapter or change the plugs on one end of it. Wire harness or light, don't really matter.

I think the Freespirits rear sets are pretty bad ass. See my profile if you want to see them on the bike. They also sell them in black. I liked the polished aluminum look.

Smaller shells and cores. Sill sounds pretty much the same, maybe a tad quieter at idle, but it makes some noise at full tilt. My better 1/2 said it was pretty loud when I went out for a test run and rolled it up to 10k in 1st through 3rd. No noticeable change in power, lofted the front just as easy as it always is.
