This is just an informational post. I'm doing this to save you a lot of time! To make a long story short, My bike was acting like that battery was dead. I would try to start her and all I could hear was the relay clicking. If I pushed the starter button a bunch of times (I had to try something to get home), it was catch and start. I got it home and tested the batter and it was good. I did some wire chasing, and in the end the power wire going from the starter solenoid to the starter was loose. I tightened it, and presto. To access the solenoid: Remove the driver's seat. remove the mounting bolt from the rear brake reservoir with a 7mm wrench or socket(leave the reservoir in place) On that bracket there is a 27 torex head screw (the same one they use on everything) and there is the starting solenoid. At this point you can just make sure both leads are tight. I removed the solenoid and cleaned the terminals and reinstalled it. I hope this helps guys. |
