I am working on a new "y-hanger" exhaust busing set up to replace the non-existent stock ones. I have an idea and am going to make two test sets, one for me and one for some else. I will ship you one set just like the set I will use. Install it ride the hell out of your bike and let me know if it is a durable item. If it works I will make some more. I would like a guy who rides every day like I do to really put stress and abuse on this thing. The parts will be un-plated steel, but the final product will be platted to prevent corrosion. I should get them completed in the next week or so. Thanks for your help. |

S1 - I think he meant milage, not weight. But coming into the thread I thought that (weight) is what it was about. Nice to see someone working on this, and hopefully having an option that is not over 100 bucks |

LOL no guys, weight is not important! Now that I re-read my header I realize what I wrote!!!! I am looking for some one who ride every day like I do, so I can see how it holds up. If it last ok for a every day rider then a weekend rider it will last for years. |

I replaced my rubber bushings with aluminum bushings over twenty thousand miles ago and so far has worked well. Is this along the lines of what you are developing? |

yes but rubber more like stock. Didn't the alum get beat to death from the vibration? |

Well I made two sets of bushings I am going to try them on to see how they fit in the next coupe days. I made two sizes, when I figure out which one fits best I will make a few more for you guys to test. |

I am still here Gmaan. Could have used it on my latest ride where my muffler shook itself to death crossing Minnesota on I-90. How are you making bushings? Shane |

I got real busy last couple of weeks at work, so I could not do any thing with it. I am trying to adapt some standard off the shelf bushings with custom steel sleeves that will fit into the existing holes. If it works it will be a "self fix solution", I hope. |

Ok So I FINELY put on my new exhaust bushings today! I'll try them out for a week or so and let you guys know how they work. I will make up a few sets for some of you to test, remind me in a week! They fit good and are using off the shelf bushings I sourced for an industrial supply company. I had to machine the metal spacers, so the first several sets will not be plated, just raw steel. If they work I will make some and have them plated. |

Coolness! It's nice to see people here innovating the parts we'll all need to keep our bikes going over the long haul. Once I get my M2 registered again, maybe I can go back to being a "heavy" Buell rider again. |

Send it to FB he has been known to be hard on exhausts. I may be wrong but I think Vance and Hines has stopped accepting his calls. |

OK people I have just under two weeks of every day riding on this contraption I made. It seems to be holding up to the heat. I am going to order some more bushings this week and make several sets for you all to try. One question, I have the stock exhaust on my bike will the stock "center" spacer work for other exhaust systems? It worked for my Vance and Hines system before the can fell apart. |

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I tip the scale at 250 lbs, I ride a 99 S3 sporting the race header and can. I ride on average 3 days a week to work, only 25 miles a day, but the up side is I live in Germany where 100mph every morning is the norm and every weekend chance I get, I'm in the Black Forest or the Austrian Alps. I just did 750 miles of high speed autobahn and very twisty full throttle mountain work (Stelvio Pass Italy). the combination of sustained high speed (2 hrs of sustained 90mph+) and very tight roads that force alot of suspension flex make me a great test bed. Let me know. |
