I e-mailed Erik Buell Racing asking if their newly offered clutch actuator will fix the clutch weep problem. It is listed on their page as: Erik Buell Racing Clutch Actuator Cylinder Kit Erik Buell Racing racing clutch actuator kit as used in the AMA Superbikes. The revised piston diameter improves modulation and feel. The cylinder sleeve is manufactured from stainless steel, and is precision honed. The mating actuator piston is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, and fitted with multiple orings, and back up rings. This ensures stiction free actuation, and excellent clutch feel. X2086.11AZ Here is the reply: Hello Bob, The actuator diameter is changed, so the stroke is increased, thus clutch modulation is more gradual for improved feel. Finding neutral is improved, as is modulation from pulling away from a stop. This actuator has a different seal design than the Buell parts, and we have had no weep/leak issues with it. It was designed based on our pool of knowledge over the years working with the engine. Thanks, Michael To me, this reads "weep fix" but then I'm not like you.} |

I may buy one just in case my current "improved" Buell parts fail. At that price it's a good investment. |

You know, even if the problem pops up again, I can but three of those from Erik Buell Racing for what I can pay HD for one. Just to have the problem come up again. So yeah, I'm buying a couple of em. |

hmm... i just got mine fixed 1k ago and working great, but i like the sound of that! So the diameter changed - but it's still a drop in replacement? That doesn't make sense to me, but i don't know what the internals look like to picture it... I like that it's "only" $99! Next up stator fix?!?!?!?!?!?!?! |

The stator fix for the rest of us will likely come about after the first 100 1190RS's are sold... keepin' fingers crossed anyhow. |

Will it fit Rev A or Rev B clutch covers? |

Just my guess, I'd say Rev B since it looks pretty similar on the 1190.

Internally both Rev A and Rev B covers are the same. Rev B just allows the piston and piston seals to be serviced without removing the entire cover. This should, and Erik Buell Racing advertises it this way, fit ALL 1125 based motors. ac |

Sl33py, I suspect the outside of the sleeve is the same so it will drop into the clutch cover, but the sleeve inside dia is probably where the piston size difference is made up. So I'm reading between the lines but sounds like none of the parts are interchangeable ala cart style with the old Buell items, but will work if you replace the piston/sleeve/seals as a unit. Even if it doesn't fix it, $99 out of pocket is way cheaper than the alternative, and it gives us the opportunity to support a worthwhile enterprise. |

The covers have nothing to do with the manner in which you can service the clutch piston/seals. It's just a different puck. You will need to remove the clutch cover on the right side. I replaced the piston for both Rev A & B. The procedure is the same for both. |

I recently went with the Brembo RCS19 clutch MC to get some control over the throw of the clutch piston, so I'm excited about this part, too, because now I should have a LOT of adjustment over the friction zone and feel at the lever. |

"I replaced the piston for both Rev A & B. The procedure is the same for both." Not true. If you want to replace just the piston or piston seals, on the Rev B cover you can do it without removing the cover. For the cylinder, both covers have to come off. ac |

I put a similar clutch brembo MC on and it is VERY touchy, just how I like it! |
