hi guys this my post. i just put an ebr ecm in my stock 2008 xb12xt. now the fan stays on while riding and goes off when stopped or turn off bike. before the fan only came on after bike was turned off. this normal? thanks mike |

Yes that is normal, it is the same fan programming the 2010 bikes have. |

i'd suggest getting a comfort kit if you can. the fan logic is designed to work with the comfort kit hardware/ducting. |

Yeah...they just upgraded the firmware in my ECM to have this new behaviour and I don't like it one bit. I'm getting 30% less power and I don't think it is a good fan strategy. I'd rather use passive air-cooling while riding and have the fan kick on only at low speed, high engine temperature, or for the five plus minutes after the engine is turned off. Having an electric fan running constantly while the bike is moving is going to greatly diminish the lifetime of the fan unit for no good reason. |
