About 3 weeks ago i purchased a nice used 09 1125R. I had a XB12R before this and still currently own 2 older X1 & S3T tubers so im not new to buells, just the 1125R. It's stock other than having a HMF slip on. I just ordered the Erik Buell Racing race ecm and K&N to compliment the HMF but havent installed yet. I see alot of posters on here mention that they have "de-noided" their bikes as well, so my question is what does "de-noided" mean or refer to?

De-noid, means removing the active intake solenoid situated under the airbox.
It's a device that restricts the throttle opening at certain revs/gears to help pass the EPA noise regs..

Adding the Race ECM disables the solenoid so removing it is not necessary unless you are looking for complete ease of mind.

I just left the noid in and disconnected the cables that attached it to the throttle body.

If you don't use the resistor plug, I think you'll get the CEL.

I'll mail it to you for free for $1, and if you want installation instructions in color on installing it, another $1 (again, for shipping; I already printed them). I never used it, as the race ECM already takes care of it.

Thanks to everyone for the great responses! This must be the shiny device that somewhat resembles an electric fuel pump. It seems as though this was a simple effective mod prior to the race ecm's being available.
Jdugger...the first thing i noticed about this bike was that the throttle seemed heavy and i thought the cables were binding. Now i know why due to the obvious extra cable being used to operate the solenoid as shown by Froggy's excellent tutorial. I will most likely disconnect it to lighten up the throttle now. Thanks!

The controls on the 1125r are heavy in general. The clutch, the throttle, etc., all seem to require a pretty firm pull compared to other bikes I've ridden.
