Thanks Turnagain I had seen that page, that's what got me started wondering what people had done with there X1W's. Neat web page too! Not so crazy about the white tail (IMHO)... I really like the aluminium, makes the X1 different to anything else, except for an XB_S of course. It does look nice and light without the hugger, thinking about making some alloy belt guards. (I'm gonna be busy making stuff...)

That Confederate is one awesome bike. pictures don't do it justice. You have to see one in person. I would also love to own one in the future. I just have a hard time with the price. |

Lemonchili_x1, yes, it's a fine example. Had a chance to buy it, but the timing wasn't right. Oh yeah, I'm partial to polished swing-arms & tail sections.

Nice Jlewis Does that K&N go straight onto the throttle body? Are they the American Sport Bike tank accents? cheers, lemonchili |

It looks like it doesn't have the accents. That is what the tank looks like when you remove the big honking air box. My X-1 tank looks like that for now, until I get this darn fairing installed!! I just need to put my motor back together, and cut out the hole for my forcewinder and she'll be ready for paint!! Then she'll look like this, only blue with a nice white flame job and my own custom seat cowl:

Oh yeah, it's not actually covering any of the frame at all... Would've helped if I'd looked a bit closer... Blue with white flames - that would look *so* cool. Can't wait to see it when it's done. I've ordered some blue stripes for the X1W...

The K&N mounts to the throttle bottle via a machined velocity stack. The interior diameter of the K&N was 3 inches while the Throttle body was 2.5. I turned a velocity stack with the correct outside diameter for the K&N with a nice radius from the throttle body. The IAT sensor is velcroed inside the K&N. It has held up well for one year. It reminds me of a muscle car intake. Really cleaned up the side of the bike. I also removed the air scoop from the other side. I currently don't have the tank accents. $200 was too much. I plan on making them from AL or copper in the near future. The bike is basically stock and dynoed at 87hp. Just has the racing ignition and a V&H pipe Joe |

Joe, thanks for the K&N info. I'm getting some bits to make a cleaner similar to a pro-series but with a Sportster cover, but if that doesn't work out I might do something like yours, looks nice and clean lemonchili |

Some cool pixs I took yesterday during SPASH (Sport Lap Around Saint Helens) and if your dig around you can find even more cool Buell pix's else where on the site. http://www.digitalphotonorthwest.com/photos/events/7172004/7172004-1/7172004-1.h tml |

Bluelighting, what's wrong with that "big honking air box"? Well, I may have a little sentiment with that monster. I made the molds for it I think I still have a couple of the original parts laying around here. |
