OK. Cam sensor replaced and timing pretty much set. New DTC codes: 13- O2 sensor (which is new), 16- Batt Voltage (new battery), and 33- Fuel Pump. 14- Eng Temp sensor when I disconnected it. All my research says temp sensor. Resistance is 39.5 cold and 4.9 hot. Bike runs pretty smoothly over 3l rpm, but I get an engine light if I drive faster than 70 for a few minutes. WTF!!! HELP!!! |

I can only tell you what I did. I had codes 33 &14 and when I replaced the temp sensor all the problems went away. YMMV. |

It sounds like the $80 sensor is the key |

Head temp sensors can do some very weird things. Had a similar problem with another X1 recently, replaced the temp sensor, reset the TPS, reset the AFV to 100. It ran like a new bike. It got even better after the ECM learned all the new input parameters. |

AFV? Probably a dumb question, but what's that? Getting a new sensor in Round Rock this weekend; anybody there or in Houston wanna hook me up w/ECMSpy in trade for a 6-pack? |

Adaptive Fuel Value. It's a value the ECM uses to compensate fuel across the board. If properly tuned it should stay at or close to 100. If less than 100 bike is running rich, if more than 100 bike is running lean. |

Good to know! Now if only I can get a hold of someone with ECMSpy! |

New data: 12.53v before riding (8.2 miles) and 12.99v after, so the battery is charging. Engine light comes on if over 3500 rpm for very long. Bucking and missing under 2000 rpm. Riding from Houston to Austin today, and will replace ETS there. The ride should give the ECM time to stabilize itself. Possible TPS reset (and AFV?) in Austin if the dealer has time. ANY way to check out the fuel pump without a pressure gauge or taking apart the tank? What does a fuel pump code (33) actually indicate? (Message edited by mstrfrz on October 07, 2011) |

Your not actually trying to ride below 2000 rpm are you? Once underway, keep revs above 2500 rpm. |

Ignoring the engine light, hoping it's the damn ETS. Stuck in Ellinger, TX, waiting for a drive belt from Austin... Ahh, the romance of the road! |

Picked up the ETS, and just to see if I was lucky, checked if Service would install it and reset the TPS. Suffice it to say I am now without my bike, and will have to make a special trip from Houston to pick it up once they find out how they screwed it up and fix it. PLUS, I'll have to fight to pay ONLY for the ETS and TPS reset (1/2 hr shop time). |

Update: Central Texas Harley claims I have a broken throttle shaft. I wonder how I rode 160 miles to their shop without any trouble? |
