Hi i'm new to this forum and looking for some help with my new (used) set of pm wheels. When i try to mount my rear wheel the brake caliper mounting bracket is tight to the lip that sticks out past the bearing on the pm wheel vs the stock rim that was flat. Is there a small spacer that is needed on the caliper side ? Thanks for any help | ||

what type and year of bike? there should be a wide spacer between your wheel and swingarm. (at least on a 2000 X1) | ||

it a 2000 x1 there is a spacer on the drive(pully) side but the left side when sitting on the bike where the caliper bracket goes against the bearing there is not enough clerance. the bearing is recessed in the rim. the side of the bracket hits the lip on the rim. It looks like there is a bushing in the caliper bracket that is supose to ride on the bearing but it dont stick out far enought to sit against the bearing. i have a pic of it in buell xb under the same question i cant seem to get them to load here thanks | ||

I had installed a dual piston brake and mount and on mine it hit the snap ring, I had to machine the outside edge of the mount to clear the snap ring. There isn't supposed to be another spacer though. | ||

the PM wheels have a different PN# wheel spacer but thats inside the wheel between the bearings. (looking at the parts book) outer wheel spacer is same PN# for both style wheels. I dont see any seporate PN# for any break parts for the rear brake assy. prob take everything back appart and reassemble. i dont have the bike at the shop with me this morning so im having a hard time visualizing how it all fits, and the book pix suck sometimes. is the disk centered in the caliper? | ||

yes its center or real close the problem is the bushing in the bracket sticks out about .140 and the lip on the wheel to the bearing is .195 so it think im going to have a buddy machine off about .075 off the lip of the wheel where the snap ring sits. | ||

As far as I know early PM's for S2's ect, had to be machined to fit later bikes, not sure about years tho. | ||
