Sounds good Don. If the weekend are sunny, I'm usually out on 2 wheels (Buell or bicycle), or hiking with a camera in hand. So let's shoot for a wet weekend day, or a Friday or Saturday night. Weekdays can also work for me. I'll look the manual over and see if any other special tools are needed because I may have them. |

Sounds good. First time I can remember hoping for a wet weekend....but I'm flexible and appreciate it very much. |

Thunderstruck Just wanted to get back to you. Plans to rotate the engine are off. My plan now is to either hard-wire the fan or to rewire with a relay. Other folks have had the same issues and, at least in their cases, it looks like the spark-skip was caused by voltage fluctuations from the fan to the ECM. Besides that it hasn't recurred with the cooler temps. |

Don, sounds like less work and hopefully it will resolve your problem. Post an update on what you find and if you need any help, let me know. |

Did a little run from home to Andrews AFB on the Uly this afternoon. I did not see another bike on either leg of the trip on the beltway. But on the way back (outer beltway) I did see an older Volvo ( I think) on the inner beltway with no other vehicles near it hit the brakes hard and do a full-speed 180 and come to a stop in an active lane facing on-coming traffic. The nearest trailing car did come to a stop (bumper to bumper) with the Volvo without making contact but I can't say for sure what happened after that. As for the Uly, absolutely no spark-skip issues. This was the first time I wore the heater jacket and pants liners this season although I didn't actually plug them in. Usually just the extra layer is enough on these mild days. Should have plugged them in. I know I'm cold-blooded but MAN. Must have taken me two hours to warm up post-ride. But the Uly really does seem to like these cooler temps. Ran PERFECTLY. Just got done reinstalling the power leads I took off when I was trying to rule out a poor ground this summer. |

I finally had a chance to ride today. (0.4 mile work commute SUCKS for riding!) Taped over the Uly's oil cooler and took a long ride (hour and a half or so). Ran great, but I HATE SALT. It might look like a dry spot on the lane...but hit it, and you may as well be on a dirt track all of a sudden. Grrrr. But damn, it felt good to be on a bike again. Been over a week. Heated jacket liner, heated gloves, balaclava, OLD-school Buell jacket and fieldsheer pants...nice and toasty |

I hate to admit it, but it has been too cold for me. This weather is what I usually expect for a couple of weeks in February. Too cold! Hey, Happy Holidays to you all, early! Best wishes for a better new year. |

It does seem a little more BITTER this December...maybe windier than previous years. The neighborhood roads are still really sandy/salty after that little bit of snow we had. I'm getting antsy too. Just gimme' a 40-degree weekend day! |

Got 40+ miles in this morning. Stuck with the highway as it was warm enough yesterday to melt and then freeze up again at night. Thinking about getting a few miles in tomorrow too. |

Getting my E.B.R. ECM back with the Barker tune installed on Friday ! I'm also going to be tackling the 12K mile service pretty soon while it's still friggin' cold out. If anybody in the area has done a valve clearance check before, I'd appreciate the help!! I don't really fear the engine rotation—I've just never checked valves before, let alone on a DOHC head. Oh, and I'm up near Westminster. Dealer wants $500+ for it ... BS! Time to wrench. I'm going to send my headers out to be ceramic coated while it's rotated down, too. Happy new year!! |

Kathy, I plan on going Saturday the 15th. Hopefully we'll see some others there. I know that the show has been a disappointment the last couple of years to some, including me, but it it's a cheap date. See some friends, tell some lies and make fun of the gay pirates.
