Harlan (Fresno), I suspect if Blake actually owned a 1125R and experienced the stator failure(s) his tune would change. Just need to be clear on this. Are you calling me a liar? Do you expect I'd spend time whining and crying that Erik Buell Racing or H-D should do something on an internet forum? You owe me an apology Harlan. |

won't stall at 2500 rpm, but it's lugging 3000 is no problem though i would hate to have to keep goosing the throttle at a stop like a harley (Message edited by sprintst on August 04, 2011) |

Fres, You need to rephrase. Your post should have said: "If one that does not possess and 1125 were to make purchase of said motorcycle, their tune about how the problem should be resolved by the manufacturer responsible for said motorcycle may differ from their current offerings." lol ac |

The same way Frank (Froggy) did. Have an '08 stator installed. It doesn't take a god to do that does it? Except Froggy got it for free, the rest of us pay, a ridiculous price, perhaps I should claim to be a mod on a web site to get treated fairly by the Mo Co. Anyway enough of this crap, I am clearly not blindly fan boy enough to post on this subject. |

All I did was ask. Being a custodian on a forum that isn't even associated with Harley Davidson had nothing to do with it. I've never had any trouble with getting any warranty work done on any Buell I've ever owned, even before I started posting on here. |

Yeah Frank! you know you get everything for free, cause of your BadWeb celebrity status......ha ha ha ha!! Whats it gonna take to get you back into New England? You know i love doin' lunch with you fancy custodians! Plus the new tuber needs some good on road action photos taken......

Froggy is probably one of the lucky ones that has a good, pro Buell, Stealership close by, that provides good support for the vehicles they sell... |

Maybe the fact that Froggy dropped $20k on an 1125 was a factor? You take care of them, they take care of you. |

$20k combined on both 1125's sounds close. One at full price, other at firesale. |

I'd likely do the install myself. Behold my omniscience? No fanboyism required, just less whining please. No one appreciates it. |

Hello fellow stator sufferers, just got the compufire rr installed under the seat and above the fender. So it will get some air cooling. The factory rr looks like a POS and is mounted to the frame. The campfire will run much cooler and heat the enemy here. Will post pix and give links this weekend. I think this is the answer, if not a stator rewind should complete the fix. My 1125r has been in the shop 4 times this year. No more hd action for me, decided to fix the issue instead of play the warranty game. |

"No more hd action for me, decided to fix the issue instead of play the warranty game." That's where I was a little over 1,000 miles ago and do NOT regret doing it either! I'd rather have my eyebrows set on fire and beaten out with a rake than go to the dealership, I feel I can do a much better job than them anyway. |

I'd rather have my eyebrows set on fire and beaten out with a rake than go to the dealership LOL I'm kinda torn between fitting the compufire NOW (6 months warranty remaining) or waiting until it expires and fitting it then.. Obviously if I fit it now I can wave goodbye to that portion of warranty... But as the rewound stator has 12 months warranty I could just fit it now and IF anything goes wrong in the charging system just do that biy myself and let the dealer...ummm.. deal with any other warranty issues I might have in the next 6 months.. Actually, typing this I think I've persuaded myself to do just that.. |

one thing to think about on the factory regulator...it should be mounted with heat sink paste, and the subframe is a LARGE heat sink. true, not the best location for airflow...but heat sinks can do a lot of good. personally...I'm going to look at some ductwork ideas. |

for those who have missed this another sries and it has a 2 year warrenty unlike the compufire... http://roadstercycle.com/Roadstercycle%20New%20Ser ies%20Regulators.htm After having my bike break down twice in a week. Stator melt down then a belt break on the way back from the stator repair. I asked about an 2008 stator when talking to hd customer service and nobody had those pieces in stock. I had to get my bike fixed to get home (700 miles) Dam right i am pissed will the 08 stator create enough juice to run the hids and cooling fans? at the 1k price tag in parts thats more than 10% of what i paid for the Bike. I love my Buell and think Erik is a great guy met him sevral times but after hauling my bike twice 120 miles the first time and 170 miles the second to get service. this just sucks . I asked will you pay towing ? NO will you get me a rental? No Other Brands look better everyday. My 1125r is the first new vehicle i have ever owned. I have not benn stranded by a vehicle since i was 17. Hell for those of you at home coming last year did you see my free truck. That ugly ass 1993 Black primer dodge truck?? had the 1125r and xb in it. I drove that 3 times to nc and twice to wisconsin.....Hell i even put a plow on it and pushed snow all winter with the 6 cyl. power. as far as riding around at 2500 rpm. How can you stand that bucket of bolts from all the clutches rattling??? or have you un hooked the vacum oprated slipper clutch? |

I got a call this am from hd asking to answer a survey about my last hd support call. LMAO The first call the lady was sympthetic and tried to help me. The second call the guy was like you don't have a radio chrome straight pipes and a can holder so i don't want to deal with you.. I was asked to answer based on the second call. The one i liked best was on a scale of 0-10 would you reccomend a friend to buy a hd.... 0 |

Rt_performance - I am so sorry for your unfortunate experiences. I am afraid to say the sorting process on Buells is less than stellar, always has been. Even in Buell's hey day a Buell was still a limited production motorcycle. I think 'issues' are within the territory of any limited production motorcycle. |

DB, ??? You are sorry? ??? Buell's production rate excuses terrible customer service by H-D personnel? You are a self-appointed H-D apologist??? What are your qualifications for making such bold statements and ludicrous implications? |

If you tell someone you are "sorry for their loss" at a funeral, what qualifications are necessary? George Bush killed Buell! |

>>> I am afraid to say the sorting process on Buells is less than stellar, always has been. That flies in the face of my view of the situation during the time that Buell was still open. What are you qualifications for making such a sweepingly negative announcement? What data are you using to justify such a statement? |

That is, quite frankly, very inaccurate information. I'd be interested . . . . having delivered new bikes across the country to folks so they could make a scheduled trip while their bike was in the shop, . . having sent 3 sets of luggage to a Badwebber till he got a set he declared "perfectly leak proof" and having dispatched folks to a remote area in Spain to the aid of an Italian Bueller during August when the Italian Buell dealers were closed . . . hearing the logic to support that. I can, actually quite easily since I have the files here, produce thousands of amazing stories of Buell doing things (many times without HD's knowledge, oft times with their support) of doing things no other manufacturer would dream of. In fact . . it's not inaccurate it's ridiculously wrong. I don't think he means ill . . I just think he knows very little about Buell. |

Court, I think the problem is that you were capable of miracles within the Buell organization for people. The average Joe was jammed with his local HD dealer. Some were lucky enough to live near an amazing shop, others...not so much. Buell CS and YOU have always taken awesome care of me. That doesn't mean my 09 CR didn't spend over 100 days in the shop last year at 2 different dealers. Buell CS was on top of doing everything they could...but you can only get a dealer not interested in Buell to work so hard/fast on an out of business production bike you got for 1/2 price. It has always been said, the worst part of Buell ownership for MOST has been the dealer. I maintain my theory that NO warranty or shorter warranty periods would have actually IMPROVED ownership experiences as people would just FIX their bikes quickly and go back to riding and enjoying an awesome bike. ac |

As I stated sorting issues are to expected with a limited production bike, BFD. Qualified? Fifteen years and 95K miles with an S1, 1.5 years and 12K miles on my CR. On the s1; blister complaint gave me three new gas tanks, customer appreciation?. The front head mount broke at the threads, new head. Belt and isolator durability issues, battery relocate for VR, stators, recall shock absorber, swing arm recall. Spoken to a few Buell owners over the years, various places including the dealership and forums like this. Court - pronouns are nice but nouns are better. Who is he? |

>>>It has always been said, the worst part of Buell ownership for MOST has been the dealer. I agree. There was so much that could, had HD allowed it, have been done so much better. >>>Qualified? Fifteen years and 95K miles with an S1, 1.5 years and 12K miles on my CR. I see you are new. Welcome. |
