Hey I've got an 07 Uly that has been rewired headlight to tailight under warranty in the last year. I just went on a 2 day 700 mile ride and on day one I was subjected to rain twice and both time the bike started running really rough and I would say I was running with about half power. After things dried out everything was fine (about 1/2 hour of sitting there). Any ideas of places to look that are suseptable to being affected to water? Please let me know, Im taking off again on Friday for a little more riding. Thanks. |

It is a common issue on the XB, the culprit is usually the plug wires. What happens is the wire rubs against the motor and wears through, then when it gets wet it shorts out on the engine and does not get the spark to the plug. The fix is replacing the wires. Also, but not as common, if the plug wire is lose, it gets water under the boot, same issue except there is no physical damage so you can't tell that there was anything wrong. |

Thanks Froggy, thats about the only place I didn't look while sitting under the roof of an old gas station, or the time before on the side of the road in the rain on top of a Colorado mountain pass. I'll look today. |
