Concur! I run 2 55w halogen H4 headlights and an electric vest (Kinetsu or Widder) without any problems whatsoever. |

I would try a vest first and add on as needed (most systems are set up to add pieces on). If you buy heated gloves, then you have warm hands and the rest of you freezes. Get a heated vest and that will keep you warm letting the blood flow to your fingers. One reason your hands get cold is the body shuts of blood flow to the extremities to conserve heat. Keep your core warm and everything else will stay warm (thats the theory anyway and its seem solid in my experience). |

i do believe it is not due to what you say as my hands are cold most of the time...now. diabetes runs in the family. body can be warm, feet warm, legs warm, arms warm, just fingers very cold. been getting frost bite at work this is how cold they are. about 60 F in the house and my rt fingers feel like they have been in ice. but i will look into a vest. if for no other reason but to help plumb the wiring to the gloves. but time to get outside and load up some fire wood out of the shed so i can have heat tonight. . |

Diabetes is rough on the extremities, sorry to hear that. I think your electrical will be just fine with a vest and gloves. |

well at this time in my life it is only a small speed bump, after the Dr's hacking part of me out, sewing part of me back together. body all bumped up and sore, then all the drugs (the legal stuff) the Dr wants me to take daily. life is just what one makes of it. and on tuesday (my saturday) i am off to do mt halamiton. and home via calaveras rd. both are a good 100+ miles from were i live, but good rides for a day...even if a cold one. if any out there i will be on a red blast say hi. stopping for a time in south sj. bike parts shop i want to check out. forget the name but will check out there heated gear. it will be a great blue sky day. packnrat. |

I too ride a red 2001 so we may be mistaken for one another!lol. I use to ride my dirt bikes up around Calavaras Rd. all the way to Alum Rock horse stables back in the 70's! The "Ravine" was a favorite for coming down off the mountain. It was a carved out run-off for water and was dry as a bone then because of the droughts. Being 15-20 feet deep, we could get some serious air popping out and dropping back in all the way down to the foothills. We should hook up some time for a ride! |
