No witnesses Charlie. It seems, much to the worry of my family, I am a one man show when it comes to these recent undertakings. No sense in fibbing though since it would mean I haven't achieved anything. As far as style points, lets just say I am a bit lacking on that. About the only style I was able to manage was keeping it on two wheels. Other than that I was wobbling all over the trail and going slightly faster than a box turtle coming back down. Next goal is to hit the 50 pound weight loss mark (got 37 out of the way so far). Once thats done a new set of goals will be set. I know I will never be healthy again but I can be "healthier" and try to make the most of what I got . |

Jaxson, I'm proud of ya. I know what it takes to lose that kind of weight and I like your attitude. I've just never been able to manage the lifestyle change required to keep it off. |

I have mastered how to manipulate the weather fellas'! If you want rain or snow buy a new motorcycle so you can't ride it. If you want insanely hot weather that keeps you locked inside going insane get one of these. You know what that is don't ya' Jason? Who's NVTS now ? |

Cannondale Rize 5 But I'm not talking to you because you don't answer the phone or return messages. Charlie, I got the trials bike back on Thursday and am ready to give it another go. Also did a little trading and outed the BMW in favor of another Austrian,Orange dream machine. NUTS |

Cannondale RZ140 3Z. The Hammerschmidt crankset is the cats pajamas and feels like nothing I've ever ridden before. The brakes on this thing perform so much better than the Trance that I am now free to loosen my sphincter when travelling with the nose pointed downhill. The component spec is pretty impressive as well. In summary, its the shiznizzle . I thought I had outdone you this time in terms of sheer insanity and economy boosting, but then you break out the news of a new machine yourself. What is this not calling back that you speak of? I have tried twice and both times it went directly to voicemail. I'm starting to get a complex here. Charlie, When you revisit the Valley please let me know so we can stop by Nuts' house and have an intervention. I'll buy the doughnuts, you bring the a few boxes of tissue in case it gets emotional. Nuts can provide the coffee. Me and Charlie would be fine with some freeze dried Tasters Choice but you'll prolly break out that gourmet stuff won't you? |

Still hotter than hell but couldn't stand it any longer. Limited the first real outting to 5 miles, which turned out to be a good thing. I was sweating so hard I sucked down my 2 liters of water in 45 minutes. The photo was snapped by my recovery team who graciously spared me a return trip back through hell . Looking forward to the hookup Tuesday Nuts. Can't wait to see what the Cove has to offer in terms of relaxing EASY trails. |

Charlie, That's my "Please snap the freakin' photo so I can get in the air conditioned vehicle" look . I've been doing a nice 14 mile loop but the heat has severely limited my play time with the new toy. I can say that in my brief outting I did find that this bike is the gravy. Keeps the ole' broke down back from hurting as bad. They say money can't buy happiness, however, it sure as heck can buy comfort . |

Not so good this time. I think I got caught up in the excitement and didn't stick to the plan. With my wife and the_raven there, I was trying to be impressive. Buggered the start, pushed too hard too soon and started a series of "over the bars" maneuvers. After lap one I had to have my pit crew cut my transponder from my front number plate as it got torn off on one of my many off course excursions. Seth, a devout NASCAR fan was loving every precious second of it! I yelled at them as I departed that I was only going to have time for two laps and my goal is always three. Lap two I tried to dial it down and then I superman'ed again. So then I really backed it down. Until 5 miles into the 9 mile lap I went over the bars and through the woods to pain and sufferville. I heard my left wrist crack as it came off the grip and landed on my left shoulder again and finished up with a leisurely tumble through the rocks and downed tree limbs. Worried I wouldn't be able to ride out because of the wrist I hopped on and got going ASAP. Surprisingly, I was able to ride and found the pace I should have started with. I passed a few folks and was having a pretty good time. A mile out from the start, the race leader passed me and I knew my day was about done. The nice lady at scoring put me out of my misery with an official "that's it." The pit crew helped me get the bike and all my crap loaded up and Seth drove us home. I was awarded the added insult of seeing all the racers that got three laps ride by while I was licking my wounds. Tough day, the Oreo Blizzard en-route to Roanoke didn't even help. I'm going to keep racing. It's a blast and I don't have to "place" to have a good time. New race goals... ride safe, have fun, be Fast&Loose. NUTS |

Sorry to see your broken wing.....that will give the rest of your body a chance to heal..................so when are you going to try your hand at trial's competition.Maybe that will teach you to slow down alittle. And enhance some other skills in the process. |

Charlie, I'll have the fiberglass trophy for another 9 days. Then I'll test my fitness before I depart for Colorado. Severe wrist sprain but my doctor wanted to immobilize it ASAP so I wouldn't screw up his re-setting of the displaced bones. Slowing down might just happen. Next "race" I need to just ride and have fun. I know the proper technique and am able to execute it when I control the "NUTS". Proper riding and outlasting the other competitors is how I plan on being successful. |

The cast is gone. I'm sporting a brace that fits under my motorcycle glove. This week I traded the racebike away for... another one! Went 2stroke this time. Same year and model as the other KTM but this one has gone on a diet. I'm guessing 30-40 lb less. Spent the week swapping everything over from the 4stroke. Sure enjoy spinning wrenches on them dirt sickles. I pick up the KTM Adventure today and put it back together for a lunchtime departure Friday. Pops and I are heading west again. Jellico Tennessee to Salida Colorado on dirt roads. I'll try to get some pics up this evening of the madness. NUTS |
