Here is one I use on my F800 when camping. 28" Stanley Tool box. Even has a gasket to seal the lid. Under $40.00. It has a V across the top to tie my sleeping mat on. |

I used the same Stanley tool box as shown in Towpro's photo. I took it on a 7,600 mile, 3 week trip across the US, ending a few days ago and never had a problem. I drove for one stretch for 7 hours in the rain and nothing inside got wet. (Message edited by hughesatron on June 22, 2011) |

Very nice guys. I'm going to have to see where I can get one of those Stanley tool boxes. My son, brother, and I will be out in Devil's Tower country in August during the Black Hills Classic. |

Got mine at Lowes or Home depot. In fact I went back to by another to my carpentry tools in. Edit: forgot to mention, there is a place to put a pad lock on this tool box also. (Message edited by towpro on June 23, 2011) |

I've always, in my mind at least, flirted with the idea of putting my Electraglide king tourpak on the ULY for a long trip. That thing is huge and lockable. Ever since having that top case on my Yamaha Venture, I've never bought a bike unless it had a top case. I only ride with side cases when I'm on a trip, except for the Electraglide. It would look odd without them. |

EG, You see the pic on killboy of a dude on an 1125 with goldwing bags and tour pack on it? Pretty cool in my book. There is/was a thread on it over on the quick board. Hugh, Got any more pics showing how you mounted the box? |

I fabricated a simple rack for my bike. I used a snowboard for the plate (any material could be used, but I had an old snowboard and the material is super strong, so what the heck). The rack part is made from square tube metal. I bolted the box straight to the snowboard and two bolts go through the box, snowboard, and triple tail. Check out the pics:

12V Ourdee? I would like to find a 32" or wider watertight box. Have certain items that are longer than 28". |

I applaud everyone's creativity! I never use the underseat 12V plugin and I think I just found a use for the one I've got collecting dust in my basement thanks to Ourdee. One can avoid the sloshing action of ice, water and drinks with the plug in cooler. Won't be waterproof given fan opening. Definite candidate for my next ride to local party/BBQ!
Hughesatron, I believe your snowboard mount could be just what I am after to mount my mountain bike on the back of my Uly. Camelback and Post ride gatorade will be in the 12V Cooler of course. This 1125R is absolutely hilarous and functional. The fact it did not fall off while doing the dragon's tail is impressive!: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tNph32io8OE/Ta82LRvyAkI/AAAAAAAAm20/cEHslEw2GYA/s1600/img_1187.jpg The Beverly hillbillies would approve of our use of the Buell's carrying abilities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnXfRstZntE |

I had one of those mounted on my Uly. The problem with it was that if you don't pre-chill it like in a wall outlet a few hours before, it won't get cold for you. Also, the soda cans vibrate around in it, not a big deal you just need to take precautions when opening the cans.
